Why Rasplex when Kwiboo has already complied OE 5.0.1 +PHT 1.3.5 4 RP2?

No discernible difference in speed, both quicker than Rasplex.

Would 1.36 then be better? :)

It has newer stuff (see below), I personally always use the latest but the difference is minimal in reality.

NEW

  • Support for building on FreeBSD (Thanks to Ben Woods)
  • Make pre-play load faster by not requesting file check directly.
  • Our user select dialog did not contain enough Awesomeness we re-did it to contain at least 150% more Awesomeness.
  • PHT now handles token invalidation much better and will prompt you to relogin when a token expires. (Expiry can happen when you delete the device in Web settings).

FIXES

  • Fix resume videos when cinema mode was enabled.
  • Make it possible to close the keyboard dialog with Escape.
  • Fix filtering that was not applied to shuffle / play all.
  • Back up if we fail to load a sub menu so we don't hang around on a empty window
  • If you have a PIN set screensaver will now be forced to 'black' if you have 'dim' selected.
  • MouseWheel now triggers paging fetch code
  • Pressing a video in watch later now plays the correct video instead of the first one.
  • Fixes to video flinging
  • You can now play a Photos that are flung from Android and iOS.
  • Disable trailers for home movies
  • Fixed Playlist editing mode.
  • Fixed jump-to-letter when you have loaded a subview or a pre-play
  • Correct watched / unwatched icons shown in pre-play
  • Image cache improved, it will now reload bad cached images and will be more careful about adding broken images to the cache.
  • Fix certificate errors with cloud sync sections
  • Remove keybindings for taking screenshots since this feature has been broken a long time.
  • Use better LIRC default path (thanks to Maxime Gauduin)
  • Fixed a token corruption that could lead to client slowdown (Thanks to Steven Hartland)
  • Fanouts and other timers should now work better with OpenELEC / Linux (Thanks to Dale Hamel)

Based on the commits to Kwiboo's GitHub, the second one (using 1.3.5) should also have PlexELEC-Settings, as well as fixing a bug or two.

The top 5 commits here are in the second build (and not the first).

OK, doesn't seem that ssh work, get connection refused when trying to reach it. Maybe latest support this? Im using the one with 1.3.6 now.

ssh works for me on 1.3.5 and 1.3.6

I was about to reply; it doesn't look like anything in those 5 commits changed anything SSH related.

You may need to enable it via Services in System Settings.

Hi guys,

To clear up confusion, Kwiboo has joined the rasplex project and is doing awesome work. We saw these builds too, and invited him to join the project and he's accepted and has been contributing for a week now.

His code has been integrated into the latest release (0.5.1). In the very near future, we'll be releasing the 0.6.X buildset, which will fully upgrade openelec to 5.0.X, and include several of the other fixes Kwiboo has applied.

The builds he prepared were based on work we've done, but he ported in some patches from upstream OpenELEC and upstream XBMC that we were missing. Rather than having two different projects with the same goal, it makes more sense for us to concentrate our efforts.
