The Storage Bit is easy - I did that First Thing 'cause I did NOT want my DVR stuff to be lost in with everything else.
Create a Folder - one Each - On a Drive where you want them.
With Clever Names like:
DVR Movies <—add that one to the Movie Library (Add Folders)
DVR Shows <—add that one to the TV Show Library (Add Folders)
(the folders can be completely empty and on any Drive in your Plexiverse - not important)
When you schedule the next TV Show Recording, aim it at the new TV Show Folder you just made - becomes the default location
When you schedule the next Movie Recording, aim it at the new Movie Folder you just made - becomes the default location
Now you absolutely, positively know where all your DVR Recordings are.
Movies and Shows in one of two folders side by side on one HDD - easy.
If you absolutely, positively need to have ‘The Unwanted’ in a TV Show Library - create a new structure for it in the Shows Folder (manually - you know, once it gets there):
DRV Shows/
..........The Unwanted/
...........Season 01/
..............The Unwanted - S01E01.xxx
Then… Fix Match/Search Options/Agent/Personal Media/
Select the only one in the list - then Plex will stop trying to match it.
You will have to hand edit it’s bits - but it’s now a TV Show - as far as you and Plex are
concerned. <—Actually Plex doesn’t care what it is now. You told Plex to Forgataboutit! … and it did.
Knowing where they are always going to be is the important part.
After that you can do whatever you want with them.
Note:
For Current Series recordings in progress - you should check - 'cause you may have to give them the ‘New Location’. I can’t recall. Once that’s done you can ‘Copy’ all those DVR Shows and Movies into their New Locations and once they get there, are indexed, and all is well (with Blue 2s Showing on Each signifying Duplicates - 'cause they’re Duplicates) - you can delete the originals.
