I put in the path “/Users//Music/iTunes/iTunes Library.itl” under the section in “Channels” but the movies are not showing up in my movies catalog. What am i missing? I love this app (found it 2 weeks ago and signed up with lifetime pass right away) but this is driving me nuts… And before someone yells at me, i’ve been googling this for the past week and searching through the forum. I’m guessing i’m missing something obvious but why not just give us an example of what the path should look like.
It looks like the forum board edited what i wrote in the path. “/Users/USERNAME/Music/iTunes/iTunes Library.itl” where USERNAME is the username of my account on my MAC.
What kind of movies (how were they added/purchased)? If they are DRMed, they won’t show up, as the DRM requires they be played by/through iTunes.
yeah, legal library of movies purchased through iTunes. I thought that the option in “Channels” (“Enable iTunes Channel”) allowed me to import (or at least access) my library. I’m not seeing anything under “Channels” that would link me to my library.
It’d be nice if you could add your iTunes, Amazon and UV movies to Plex for cataloging purposes, and let Plex just pass you off to the appropriate player on the device (Movies on AppleTV or iTunes on the Mac, etc.) if it’s available for playback. It’d be great to be able to have a single comprehensive browsable catalog of my Media via my Plex Server, regardless of where the media resides.

impossible because of DRMs.
The transcoder could not transcode the DRM files.

I remember a user doing this as well, but it only allows for directplay.
Your movies with the itunes DRM will not be able to be played if transcoding is required.

Afaik only on the ATV3 using PlexConnect. On the ATV4 with Plex it doesn’t matter if driect play or not, DRM Files aren’t playable through any other apps than iTunes respectively the Apple Movies app itself.

I think you missed the point of what I was saying. I wasn’t suggesting importing DRM files into Plex — just some sort of reference item for “cataloging purposes” that would possibly link out to the appropriate app for playback.
The concept is to optionally use Plex as a browsable comprehensive catalog for all of ones digital media — both Plex movies/tv shows and also those one has on other services, like iTunes, UV, Amazon, etc.
I guess one would just create a dummy .mp4 file for each movie in question, but I was hoping for something a little more automated, like the ability to add an “iTunes Movie” item somehow that would have all the movie info, but instead of a play button, it would have a link off to the “My Movies” section of iTunes, or the “Purchased” section of the Videos app on iOS, as an example.
