As Freebase is going to be retired within the next few months, I feel it's absolutely critical for Plex to transition over to Wikidata instead of Freebase. I'm not entirely sure how good Wikidata is at present, but I'm not sure if there are many alternatives anymore, are there?
Is there any progress or plans to do this already? If not, things are going to get much more difficult once that time hits. I feel this is something that we need to be built into Plex, as Freebase is, rather than a third-party plugin.
