Wildly wrong Match: Common Side Effects

Okay, wow, not sure how the heck this is the first and default match:

It’s some Turkish drama show. The title has NONE of the words in my folder (seen at the top), and the description (the short one on Plex, or the longer descriptions on tmdb/tvdb) does not include any of “Common” “Side” or “Effects”. It is pretty much only available in turkish (not my primary language “English”).

Why is the turkish show the default for that title?

Did it appear as a wrong match on your server before?

I think it can be connected to a previous mismatch.
Which usually happens when truncated files are matched. (Like a file download that was just started, or a video file that is still being decompressed.)
The result is that there is a bogohash in the database which fits many truncated video files.
The only cure known to me is a full Plex dance with the original mismatched file as well as all subsequently mismatched files.

Of course it could be also an issue in Plex’s metadata storage.
I will forward this to the team to verify.

Thanks, @FordGuy61 !
Apparently IMDb had “Common Side Effects” on file as the Italian title of “Esref Rüya”.

Since that is quite unlikely, I have filed a request to delete it from IMDb.

Agh, I’d checked tvdb/tmdb, but not IMDB. I guess I didn’t even know if IMDB had alternate titles in it. That explains why this could happen.

To your question, no, I had not previously had this matched. I added it to my server last night, and before going to bed I double checked all recent additions as I usually do and noticed a strange live-action Turkish romance drama in my animated library. Definitely does not belong there, I thought!

EDIT:
Why would a Turkish show with one alternate name pop up as a more accurate match than a show with the literal name itself? As far as I can tell, the actual show came out in Feb, while the turkish show came out in march, so it’s not a matter of which show was “first”. IMDB even seems to list the show as a 2024 show, due to the pilot coming out in June 2024 in a french film festival.

Does the matcher agent not take into account language of account vs language of show? For this Esref show, only one of many alternate language titles lists the name, and it’s Italian of all things, while Common Side Effect’s language is English and matches the folder name perfectly.
