Probably going to buy an Nvidia Shield to run the plex server in my house. but don’t really want to buy another media device. I already have an apple tv 4 and am thinking of buying a second one. I know android media devices can get a plex server app from their app store. will this app be available on iOS app store?
Extremely unlikely
Don’t count on it. Let the AppleTV be your client, plenty of other options with better storage support to be a server.

This would be something Apple would not allow.

If you are buying something to be a ‘server’ there are so many better devices/systems than a Shield. It’s #1 objective is end point client. Server capability is after thought.
