Will not recognise a TV show

I am having issues with V the Mini series not being picked up in Plex. The folder is named correctly but it will not appear in Plex. Any ideas?

No file names? Cool.

Filebot Named these - and I still had to Fix Match:

Plex could only find the 2005 version.
I used the TVDB ID# - then it was forced to do the right thing.

Thank you for your reply. Im a newbie here. Can you explain what l need to do. I have Filebot.

thanks

Let Filebot name and structure them - then show us what it did - like I did…

Then Fix Match (at the Show Level) when Plex can’t find the right one.

Easy…lol

BTW:
Just now - not 10 seconds ago - Filebot fixed this show, again, after TVDB decided to re-arrange the episodes since the last time TVDB re-arranged the episodes. I had already Fixed Match some time ago - so this time ‘Refresh Metadata’ just repaired the Season placements - all the ones I have are now in Specials since I’ve been waiting for Season 1 for several decades now…I’m ready tho… lol

Great, I just ran through what you suggested and l can now see V. This has been annoying for me a long time.

If I was to rename the folder as the series ID would that also work?

thank you so much

This is what my tv shows now appear as, although only one showing

Plex will not recognized files if named that way (e.g. V - Special # or V - #x##).
Based on the naming schema used by Plex, the folder structure / file names should look like this:

TV Shows
  V (1984)
Specials <- alternatively you can call this "Season 00"
      V (1984) - s00e01 - The Original Miniseries.mkv
      V (1984) - s00e03 - The Final Battle.mkv
    Season 01
      V (1984) - s01e01 - Liberation Day.mkv
      V (1984) - s01e02 - Dreadnought.mkv
      ...

After fixing those names, you might need to do a “Plex Dance” to make Plex forget it already catalogued that series incorrectly.

Edit: looks like 1x01 is an empty file (size is 0)

HI,

that was the naming conversion that filebot gave the files. I will manual adjust.

thank you

There’s a thread discussing the schema to apply to FileBot so it produces file paths / names that Plex will recognize

You can use {Plex} or look at the available Formats and pick the correct one:

‘Out of the Box’ FB doesn’t use “S01E01”, but that’s easy enough to change.
FB can do a whole lot of other ‘Plex Friendly’ things as well, with the proper commands:

^That^ creates a Movie and it’s Folder, Like this:

All in [Brackets] is ignored and so to Plex, that file/folder name is - Perfect (more perfect than that murder).
