I understand dvr recordings can only be set using the web interface, are there any intentions to bring this to the mobile (android) apps?
I’m debating whether plex dvr is user friendly enough to warrant investing in a nas/ hd home run combination over my current single room solution. It’s pretty expensive so want to be sure before diving in
Always wait until a feature you need exists before investing. I’m fairly certain that other interfaces will be getting DVR support, and I suspect it will be sooner rather than later (we’ve only got one more Die Hard title left, after all!), but if integration issues delay this extensively app support may come much later. For me the DVR controls are once-and-done, as long as I can watch on any device I don’t mind hitting a website to record a show.
I can schedule recordings now from my phone - using the app.plex.tv web portal. I can’t imagine that when the DVR comes out of beta, that this functionality wouldn’t also be included in the android app - but as I say, it works already from the web portal, so the point is essentially irrelevant!
