Where’s my DVR in the new iPad App?

Looks like it’s not available yet.

Thanks. I did try that but seems I have to click a few time to get it to work
(app needs a ✓ next to the selection)

Now where is the DVR Schedule and Recording Priority?
Never mind, I see in the prior post that its “being worked on” – How did Plex miss this???

Vapour on that one.

Astonishing… no DVR functionality in the app. Releasing a major new update with key features missing. Do the recent Sonos terminations now work for Plex?

In the new iOS app, there is no or limited DVR guide data for OTA tuners. “New” airings not noted. No DVR schedule. Useless for tuner owners.

Wow this is unbelievably horrible.

Managing DVR functions is a core function of live tv.

I cannot access my server from outside my network so this new app means I have zero control over DVR functions when not at home.

I feel completely stupid for just upgrading my Plex Pass to monthly a few weeks ago now.

I avoided the beta releases for these reasons, I didn’t think they’re release a final version without key features. What a major f-up this release is.

Wait … is this for real? Have they really removed almost all of the live TV browsing and recording functionality? So they have removed:

  • ability to browse e.g. all forthcoming movies (or series) across my live TV channels (or filtered by channel), sorted by title or airing date

  • ability to manage DVR recordings in one area, changing recording priority etc.

So now the only ways to browse live TV content are either through the TV guide itself (the UX for which is now awful, clicking through arrows to scroll, no zoom) or through the ‘What’s On’ tab, where you hope that ‘My Upcoming Shows’ and ‘Recommended For You’ pick up everything you might be interested in?

Seriously? Am I missing something?

Now that I look at the Windows app which thankfully remains unchanged (I’m now never updating this), basically they have removed from the iOS apps all of the ‘DVR Schedule’ and ‘Browse’ sections.

I cannot believe how bad this is, they have removed from the iOS apps 50% of what I used Plex for (the other 50% being watching my recordings).

Yep. I’ll believe it when I see it.

This release never should have come out without it.

Agree. Been a month and they still haven’t added DVR Scheduling to the App.

As for the DVR scheduling, I use the WebUI, and for IOS I saved the DVD tab to my Home Screen so I could get to it quickly.
Not ideal, but better than the Plex iOS App.

If you login using a Browser to plex.tv you can access the Live TV tab and control DVR functions remotely (and with iOS (not sure about Android), you can save that tab to your iPhone Home Screen for quick access. Not ideal, but better than the ‘new’ plex app)

Thanks for this.

I tried it but when I click on the Live TV tab it shows me a guide but on with their Streaming channels, my server with OTA channels is not there. I am signed in.

Do you not see your server name on the top left just above the guide?

Nope.

What shows up when you tap on “Featured” (looks like a dropdown menu)…

Just a list of all the categories of their free tv stuff.

Nothing to indicate my local library.

I’m not sure that that’s the best URL to access your own live TV. I use this URL and get the web-based client which also gives me access to my live TV/tuners.
