I was wondering if Plex will ever work on the Xbox One without the need for a Server? The Xbox One obviously has the ability to read media from an External Hard Drive, so is there a need for the Server?
I don’t believe this is really in focus with how the Plex ecosystem is meant to work. Plex is a client/server environment so a stand alone player is probably not something they will be working on.
Microsoft has a built in media player for playing via an external drive or DLNA.
