WIll this have damaged my Plex database?

Server Version#: Latest
Player Version#:

I recently had to restore my system drive from a backup and forgot that the version of Plex it contained was an older version to the one I had been using.

When I started Plex I got the usual “Updating Libraries” message you get the first time you run a new version of the server, but of course it was actually an older version than the one last used with the database.

When I looked at the database everything had disappeared, 1000’s of files missing!

So I downloaded the latest version of Plex, the “Updating Libraries” message appeared again, and now it looks like everything has come back.

Will this have done any damage to the database or have I got away with this mistake?

Does anyone know what the “Updating Libraries” message you get with every new server version actually does?

Thanks
Robin

You can perform the manual database repair procedure as a precautionary measure. https://support.plex.tv/articles/repair-a-corrupted-database/

Or you can go to a backup of the database from before the incident. https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/

Checking and updating the database schema, if necessary.
