Win 10 Plex Desktop Player all of a sudden not working any more

Server Version#: 1.25.1.5286
Player Version#: 1.40.1.2823-6f60f3a7

Today my Windows 10 freezed out of nowhere and after a reboot, I could launch the Plex Desktop player anymore, I already tried updating it to the latest version, but it alsmost seems like Windows is blocking the application.
When I try to start it, the application briefly shows up in my task manager, within a second it shows the status “suspended” (see screenshot) and within the same second the application is terminated without any error whatsoever.

Plex_suspended

Does anyone of you had this problem before? I tried several reboots, I checked if any new applications were installed recently, which is not the case.
I haven’t got a clue on what is causing this issue…

Anything in the app logs?

Nothing really:

On a Mac/Linux you can run the app through Terminal to see if there’s any OS level errors thrown if the app is crashing. I suppose you could run the app through CMD/PowerShell?

How do I do that?

PS C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex> plex.exe
plex.exe : The term 'plex.exe' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. C
heck the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.

Suggestion [3,General]: The command plex.exe was not found, but does exist in the current location. Windows PowerShell does not load commands from the current location by default. If you trust this command, instead type: ".\plex.exe". See "get-help about_Command_Precedence" for more details.
PS C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex> ".\plex.exe"
.\plex.exe
PS C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex>

I suppose you need to start by using the exact name of the app (upper/lower case characters matter).
Isn’t it Plex.exe?

Yes it’s Plex.exe, but unfortunately this didn’t make a change…

It wasn’t so much supposed to change anything… just give us an insight in a potential error message from the startup/crash of the app.

Yes I understand, but I’m not getting any error, when opening plex this way, it doesn’t even briefly show up in the task manager…

I really don’t understand where this is coming from all of a sudden.
I googled for “suspended apps”, but the articles say, you can find a list of suspended apps in the task manager, but Plex is terminated immediately after it is suspended and therefor not in the list anymore

I had missed that status in your 1st screenshot.
Though from all I know that only means that Windows has “parked” your app – this seems to be more of a consequence of what you experience, not the root cause.

Anything in your system events (event log)?

Oh why didn’t I think of that…

It shows this error everytime I try to start Plex

Also just before my computer crashed, this error came up in the logs

The description for Event ID 0 from source Corsair Link cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Driver error 1275

I didn’t install any software on my computer or made any hardware changes.

I get exactly the same thing - same crash error in the application event log.
I’ve just updated the Plex client to Plex-1.41.0.2876-e960c9ca-x86_64 but no change in behaviour. Some other people with the same issue here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/so4ur7/plex_immediately_crashing_with_kernelbasedll_error/
