Server Version#:I received a similar message today. I was attempting to update server version to 1.19.2.2711. but server would launch afterwords… when to roll back to previous version and got “installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Boost_Thread.dll.”
Never had an issue before now and trying to research why… check all permissions and it looks fine. Anyone else.
I found a solution for my issue… my Antivirus Bitdefender identified Boost_Thread.dll as a random Grafter.698748 virus. Researching this I didn’t find any virus definition that matched. I closed Bitdefender and checked the File with both Kaspersky and Avast neither of which flagged it as harmful so I repaired PMS from the 1.19.2.2711 install file and now everything is working.
I ended up removing Bitdefender all together.
i used take ownership stuck it up windows ass worked perfectly
