Win10 media buttons not functional

Server Version#: 1.19.3.2764
Player Version#: Plex for Windows 1.10.0.1208-daa6b641

Hello, I’m having an issue that I need help with.

I have a Logitech G502 Proteus Core mouse with programmable buttons. The buttons that are relevant here are mapped to the previous track, play/pause, and next track commands. It’s my understanding that Windows provides this functionality natively and it works in my other media apps such as Spotify and Opera.

Since I started using Plex about 2 months ago, it has never worked, but I didn’t have my music imported yet so I didn’t mind. Now I am trying to use it exclusively for my downloaded music instead of Spotify and it’s missing this (to me) very essential feature.

What am I doing wrong and how can I get Plex for Windows to function correctly with my mouse and with Windows media commands?

Update on the situation: Windows media buttons in Plex for Windows are functional while in-game in Warframe, and I don’t know why. Maybe Windows is treating the application differently in games?

Other fullscreen applications that I use (e.g., Netflix Windows Store app) seem to not be able to do this, not sure why Warframe in particular is “fixing” my issue.

Edit: According to this post, Plex for Windows doesn’t support media buttons. So that sucks. The only option is to try Plex Media Player, for which the development has apparently been discontinued except for bug fixes.
