Hi, My plex desktop app stopped working for some reason.
As soon as I start it, it loads in but the windows get non-responsive and want me to close or wait. Tried to reinstall it a couple of times but no fix.
Can you watch your content on any other devices?
Can you open it on Plex Web in a browser on the same computer?

Yes I can watch on my other devices such as iPhone and Apple TV.
Works in the browser too on the same pc, but I don’t wanna watch Plex from chrome.
It’s just the desktop app that acts weird.
Yeah I used to use the browser but I switched to the app because I like it better.
If you uninstalled it and reinstalled, Windows must be holding on to some information in the registry that’s causing a problem .
I wouldn’t know exactly what to tell you to delete. Someone else might come along who does
Personally, I would use something like Revo Uninstaller to completely remove all information stored in the registry for the Plex app during the uninstall
This is probably not the official Plex recommendation just so you know
I’ve seen them warn against using those type of programs but that’s mostly for peoples servers I think
The server icon and the app icon are identical. Just don’t pick the wrong one lol
Uninstall, remove data from %LOCALAPPDATA, then reinstall.
