Windows 10 Plex Server, .vdr files created when recording TV via Plex

When I schedule a recording from Plex (1.10.1.4602) using my HDHomeRun CONNECT and making sure that I do not ask Plex to Remove commercials, I now get additional files in the directory.

I don’t transcode them and in the past had just one .ts file, but now for every recording, I get one .ts file, one .ffmeta file, one .ffslipt file and one .vdr file in the folder.

Plex thinks it can play the .vdr file, so it appears in my library, as an additional file :frowning:

The file recorded on 2017-12-03 shows the old behaviour and the 2017-12-10 files shows the new behaviour.

How can I stop Plex creating these unnecessary additional files?

An update is that they seem to be created with every recording, including Ad Removal, would really like to know how to get rid of these .vdr files?

Are you doing any post processing that might be creating these files? I do not get any extra files created with my recordings.

No, I am not and I did not get any extra files, until after the 10th December 2017.

It is probably a custom comskip.ini file. If you edit it I bet it says something about vidoeredo.

Ffmeta is another special type if you don’t need it edit the comskip.ini

Thanks a lot, you were right and hopefully all fixed

Though not sure why these files were created when I selected no Ad Removal.
