So I have 3 servers (OTA, Cable, IPTV) , been fighting constant repairs and google not working, since november (Proxy Issues). All 3 Windows 10 Pro, 2 are used for nothing but Plex. Tonight I thought I would take one server to a fresh load.
Installed Windows 10 Pro 1809, fully up to date.
Google Chrome.
PMS 1.15.0.659-9311f93fd
Tried to configure PMS with 127.0.0.1, (Network proxy not responding)
Tried to configure PMS with https://app.plex.tv/desktop (Nope: no option for New server found, just my other 2 servers)
Tried 127.0.0.1 again, found and allowed me to configure the name and one folder, then would not continue.
plugged back in ethernet. 127, just spinning. App.desktop, worked, still does not see new server, just 2 old servers.
1a. Server 2 is crashing constantly and won’t record anything, Plex stops running completely.
2a. Server 3 is playing shows remotely for about 2-5 minutes then dies, server continues to run and record shows.
3a. Paid Plex user very upset. A Lot of time and investment involved, and it seems there is nothing I can do to resolve this.
Been a server tech for over 40 years, I am sorry, yes, that is the complete site address. I only made the assumption everyone would know.
To clarify above, 127 is working when the Ethernet cable is unplugged from the server, but then dies when the cable is plugged in. I was hoping that a simple base load without additional software loaded (no virus scanner added, team viewer was added after I finished my testing)…or alteration to the OS may give the programmers an idea as to what windows has broken. This has been an issue since version 14 of PMS.
My router is Kerio control, so it is Very Very detailed as to the setup, I do not have DNS redirect protection option, and UPNP is Disabled. Plex has worked very well for over a year. The problems began with Windows 10 1803 install and has continued into 1809. two of them are not used for any other reason but Plex. and the 3rd plays WOW and Sims. I would welcome a program to remote in if they think, it would help resolve some of the users complaints.
Reloaded everything from scratch, back to version 1.14 After working on this all day. Everything was working great as I expected. Then all of a sudden everything crashed, and so did the Server 3. Looked into the logs, both were downloading the EPG. Deleted the Data file for EPG and then allowed it to reload. servers have been up since. So my question is. How much fail safes are build into the system for Poor internet. The main reason I am migrating away from IPTV, also because of Data Caps. I’ve noticed a number of oddities in Metadata as well. Things that will load on one server, but can’t quite get it right on the second server, and require me to reload the same item that just loaded fine on a different box, although they share the same shared drive.
There is nothing I can do about the quality of our internet. but is this a possibility?
