Windows Desktop Player Not Playing

Server Version#: 1.43.0.10492
Player Version#: 1.112.0

I originally posted in the on demand section thinking that I had a problem with one show but that isn’t the case. I am able to play my own media from the windows desktop app. When I try to play newer titles on demand I can play it on my roku tv and in the web based player. When I try to play on the desktop app, commercials play fine. The video is garbled and there is no audio. This happens on multiple computers running the desktop app in Windows 11. If I try to play an older show, which probably has lower resolution, it plays fine on the desktop app. If I turn off my server and try to play the higher definition shows, it is still garbled? Would that rule out a problem with the server? Any idea how I can resolve this? I did install the K-Lite codec pack on the computer that runs the server to try to solve and issue with an other program. I’m not sure if my problems started at about that time. I have uninstalled K-Lite. I deleted the contents of the plex codec folder and that didn’t seem to help.

I tried uninstalling the server and using just the desktop app but the desktop app still won’t play these shows. I reinstalled the server which also didn’t allow me to play these higher resolution shows.

Thank you for reporting. We are aware of this issue.

Is there a fix coming for this?

I think I’m having the same problem as the OP with the Plex for Windows client Version 1.112.0.359-0d79a49f and streaming content under Movies and Shows. I wanted to watch an episode of Drew Carey, and while the ads came through fine, the show itself had no audio and the visuals were just vertical color bands on my monitor. On my Android phone the show comes through fine. And any content hosted on the server machine also plays fine in the Windows client.
