This issue has been listed a few times in the forums, but shown resolved as a full wipe (appdata) and reinstall. That isn’t addressing the underlying issue.
All applications in Windows should detective active desktop space both when an app is started, and when display changes occur (removal of a laptop from a multi-monitor docking station). Neither of these are happening with the new Plex Player for Windows (10 in my case).
Symptom and problem:
So I usually run Plex Player on one of my 3 full size monitors, connected to my laptop, 99% of the time. But when mobile, I hit Plex and it opens the player (icon and app is active) but it’s not visible. Nor does it respond to any standard windows command (minimize all, cascade, etc).
- Side rant: if this is some attempt to be more tablet friendly, let’s all just accept that Windows is a $hit tablet operating system and move such options to settings for the 1%'s to turn on if they want it and not make the rest of us standard windows users suffer.
The problem is the new app. The developers need to reconsider the basic best practices of the Windows application space. You’d never guess they’ve been doing apps on windows for how many years now…
