Server Version#: 1.21.2.3943
Player Version#: i don’t know, i can’t see it…
when I launch the player its icon shows up in the task bar and if i hover over it it shows the highlight bar under the icon as if it’s running, and occasionally shows a blank white window thumbnail above the icon, but that’s it. I can select it which causes other open windows to deselect, but it doesn’t show up on the visible screen, and i’ve tried windows+arrows to try to move it onto the screen in case it was off, and that doesn’t help either. Also tried alt-tabbing to the plex window (which shows up in this view as a white box) and that doesn’t work. this just started happening today. I am not sure when i last updated the client but it must have been at least several days ago. nothing has changed with my PC.
Is there anybody out there? It’s kind of frustrating that I can’t use the plex client. I just relaunched it and it made me install an update, but still behaves the same. I re-installed it from a fresh download yesterday and that didn’t help.
The version is 1.27.2, i just found it in windows settings.
I just uninstalled, deleted all the related files, downloaded the latest, installed…and it was doing the same thing.
However, I tried right-clicking on the little gear icon that appears below the thumbnail when you hover on the task bar icon, and clicking “Maximize” in the menu that came up, and this actually made the app visible.
It this intentional functionality? Is there a reason someone would want to have the app running but not be able to access the UI? Seems odd to me.
Anyway hope this post helps someone.
If you sometimes connect and remove external screens or change the configuration in a multi-monitor setup (e.g. “mirror”->“extend” or vice versa), the Plex player may still have stored in its configuration on which monitor it used to sit.
After clicking on the “Plex” item in your task bar, you can use the default Windows keyboard shortcuts to try and bring it from an “invisble screen” back to your current one.
For instance, Windows+→ or ← will move the program window one screen to the right or left.
Try also Windows+Shift+→ or ←

Thanks, but as I said in the original post I tried the windows+arrow key trick and the window was apparently NOT offscreen. Also the window thumbnail was just a white square with no content. So this must have been another bug.
Luckily I accidentally found a fix, which is actually how I resolved the last issue I had with Plex.
