Hi everyone,
I am trying to make sense of all of the audio settings as I have recently got into setting up my Home Theater.
I have come to realize that setting my TV to run in DTS NEO 2:5 has been the easiest because it seems to handle switching between Stereo and 5.1 from several sources the best. I do not have to worry about switching this setting. (The Audio settings on Samsung TV are annoying as you have to manually switch between DTS and Dolby Digital + depending on the source you are using) The TV always defaults to PCM.
DTS NEO 2:5 seemed to handle everything fine, giving you surround sound audio, not just blasting stereo out of all 5 speakers.
Today I played a 4k movie off of plex with 7.1 DTS Master audio and this messed everything up. The TV seems unable to use DTS NEO 2:5 and switches to PCM, which just blasts stereo out of all 5 speakers. I can manually switch the TV Audio setting to DTS and then it will play surround sound correctly. However, as soon as I leave the 4k movie with 7.1, the Samsung TV auto switches back to PCM, and I have to manually switch the Audio setting back to Neo 2:5 to get it to work with everything.
Does anyone have any insight on this, or where I can find more audio settings. The only thing available in the Samsung TV Plex App is a check box for DTS, which doesnt seem to change anything, and a volume blast. I also can’t seem to find many audio settings in my Plex Media Server on my windows Machine.
Thanks in advance for any help.
