Windows reinstall killed my plex

After I recently reinstalled windows to clean up my pc i tried to get plex up and running again. But now i have a problem. If i go to the toolbar and press to “open plex” i get a quick view, like 1 second, of what looks like my normal plex page follwed by a splash screen with plex in the middle and no options at all. i have tried everything i can think of. i reinstalled plex media server 3 times. i deleted my account and started a new one. i am at a total loss. i really dont want to stop using plex but if i dont get a fix soon im going to have to think about it… i mean it isnt working at all.

Hi Logan,
You can try the following steps:

  • Update to / Download the latest Plex Media Server
  • Open as Admin
  • Try again after Reboot
  • take a look at the logs in %AppData%\Plex Media Server\Logs
    If it still fails, you can try downloading Media Creation Tool (Windows 10), select “upgrade this PC” and then “keep presonal files and apps” to soft reinstall Windows. Usually it will repair broken Windows Files.
