Has anyone had any luck streaming over wireless? My Pi seems ok on a wired connection but it's really bad on wireless. My iPads and iPhone can all stream on wireless without any issues so I know the network is fast enough.

my pi streams fine over wireless. try a decent wifi dongle
wich dongle do you got? What kind of WLAN does your router provide?
The dongle is an 802.11N, but not sure of the make (came as a bundle when I bought the Pi). my Router isn't wireless N though... but my ipad can stream content no problem over it.
Actually just checked and my router IS wireless N so should be nice and fast.. is there a way to check the throughput that the Pi is getting?
was asking dansvarre, since he is using apparently a wireless setup thats working...
I have picked up one of these http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Universal-Wireless-HDTV-Adapter/dp/B005O88CUS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1377807105&sr=8-2&keywords=tv+wireless+LAN and have had great results. My pi was basically useless with a USB wireless adapter so I picked up this which allows you to have dual band wireless and also doesn't eat up a USB. Its not perfect because it requires an external usb power source (supplied by my TV USB in this case) with power to the pi coming from a kindle fire usb wall charger. Well worth the extra wire in my case.
Cool, i ordered two similar products yesterday, well actually three but one is a dual band USB stick.
I also tried out Powerlan but i only got like 13-15 Mbit/s out of the supposed 500Mbit/s.
I am using a Linksys E3200 (GB LAN, 600Mbit/s dual band) router and my server (i3, 4GB Ram) is connected via GB LAN.
I will test those this weekend. I also plan on testing another router (easybox 802) configured as repeater with the raspberry connected via LAN.
I´m using a netgear wma3100m
So i tried those three devices. Best one was the Netgear WNCE3001 with like 80 Mbit/s at the 5GHz WLAN.
The TP-Link bride and the wma3100m got both 40Mbit/s, but thats the maximum i can get in the 2.4GHz WLAN.
With all three devices my buffer does not get empty but if the movie bitrate peaks for a short time from like 13 Mbit/s to 25 Mbit/s i still get stuttering. Even at 950 MHz.
I guess i will use the wma3100m stick, and set the transcoding setting to 12 Mbit/s.
I guess your files contains HD audio, i can not see why your nitrate should go up to 25Mbits/s otherwise.
yes, most of my movies have DTS, DTS-HD or True-HD.
DTS is no problem, but DTS-HD, DD-HD and true-HD does not work on the pi and that is why you get stutter.
