I want to know is if there is a specific setup required to get the wireless to work properly. When I use the ethernet cable, the streaming works just fine with no hiccups. When I use his, TP-LINK TL-WN725N Nano Wireless N150 Adapter 150Mbps, the streaming works fine for some minutes and then cuts off back to main menu. I have to press play again to resume. The raspberry pi can be 5 feet away from the router and this still happens. I have a Nighthawk R7000.
Is this a simple problem to fix just by getting a 300mbps dongle over a 150mbps? Can the raspberry pi use wireless AC as well as N? I've scanned available wireless networks and changed the channel to the least used one and had better results, but still no success. Can I get some help/recommendations?
I gave up on wireless dongles and bought a Linksys WUMC710 802.11AC bridge and connect via ethernet to that. Works much better and now i can stream my 20+ mbps bluray rips with no issue.
I had very poor success using a tplink powerline adaptor. I then changed this to a Devolo and all works really well, so if you consider powerline as an alternative to wireless, then I'd suggest avoiding tplink and going for the Devolo brand.
I believe this would solve my issues. I've been changing the channels again and it cuts off less and less. Just need better reception and I believe this will get the job done.
