You have the same symptoms, without the details from the PMS logs and the media files from both of you then there is no way to tell if this is the same issue or root cause.
Also wireless is not a reliable solution for reliable streaming of HD material, there are too many variables involved e.g. even water from something like a shower in between two devices is enough to break a connection, for some people it works fine but that is because all the stars are in alignment for them.
I'm also having stuttering issues when it comes to streaming 3D movies. They are sized 4-12GB. All other files, including ordinary 12GB 1080p MKV files stream just fine though.
My setup is the following:
- Macbook (white) running PMS and PlexConnect. Connected via Ethernet to my Airport Extreme (upstairs).
- ATV3 connected via wifi (downstairs).
I can stream the 3D movies with Plex Home Theater on my Macbook Pro downstairs via wifi without any problems.
I've tried to convert the files to an iTunes compatible container optimized for streaming using the iFlicks app, but it doesn't help. There is still stuttering.
Any ideas what could be done? I'm thinking of purchasing the new Airport Extreme (I own the previous gen), in case that will help, otherwise I'm out of ideas what could be done.
