Working DLNA Profiles

I believe this should work for all HP MediaSmart TVs. I don't know if anyone else in the world actually purchased one of these things. The profile is the sony bravia 2010 profile with the HP identifiers just added in. I only know this works with my TV (a 47" from 2009 or so) but it should work with anything that has the manufacturer string "Hewlett-Packard" and the friendly name "HP MediaSmart TV." I've played all kinds of content with no issues.

I´m looking forward to a WDTV Live 3rd Gen Profile. If anyone can make a perfect Profile will pay 20 Bucks

Hello everyone I am being denied in programming, I need help to create a profile working for me samsung tv d5000.
Until now I always used Serviio, but I knew plex and would like to use it but without a working profile for my TV I can not.

Here is one for a roku soundbridge m1000.

This works when being accesed via the soundbridge,  but doesn't when using bubbleupnp to as a control point.  (play from PMS to the soundbridge).   In that case, native mp3s work fine, but flac files don't.    Playing the same flac file from the soundbridge gui off PMS, works fine, and you can see it's being transcoded in the log file.

Ideas?

fail to play movie in sony bravia tv file attached here with

Are you using bubbleupnp to send files to the soundbridge to play?  And if so is the media server recognizing the soundbridge at that stage?  It sounds like when you're bouncing the files from bubbleupnp the device isn't being recognized and the files are trying to directplay instead of transcode to mp3

Does anyone know of a profile for the Panasonic DMP MST60 ?

It does not seem to be included in the list of profiles.

Currently I am using the generic profile but have to transcode everything to MP4 as it won't play flv or mkv

and subtitles are a no no

thanks

Steve

I’ve attached a DLNA profile for the Yamaha ADVANTAGE RX-A830 receiver. The only information I could find on the DLNA capabilities are the following from the manual:

  • The unit supports playback of WAV (PCM format only), MP3, WMA, MPEG-4 AAC and FLAC files (1- or 2- channel audio only)
  • The unit is compatible with sampling rates of up to 192 kHz for WAV and FLAC files, and 48 kHz for other files.

Notes:
  • The AV unit only support audio streams. Is there anyway to not show the Pictures and Video categories?
  • I don’t have this receiver connected to a TV so I have no idea what is displayed on an attached screen. Using the Yamaha AV app for iOS, it does show the cover art is most cases. Occasionally, it will not display cover art for an album. No idea why.
  • This may work for other Yamaha receivers, just change or remove the Model number lines in the profile.
  • My collection is entirely MP3, AAC and ALAC files. All of those play. Others were not tested.

Programming note:
  • During playback, the receiver reports a user agent of “WinampMPEG/2.8” and during browsing “KnOS/3.2 bridgeCo-DMP/3.0 DLNADOC/1.50 INTEL_NMPR/2.0”. I believe the KnOS user-agent is also reported by Denon, so Device Description is used to identify the unit.

If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know.

An almost fully working profile for videos for the Hisense HL55K610PZL3D LED SmartTV. MP4 containers won't transcode with this profile.

Panasonic Viera 3D TV.xml (1.7 KB)

Working: Panasonic TX-L42DTW60

everythink except movies with embedded subtitles are working. Those get transcoded and suffer the "resume will play from beginning"-Problem.

attached my profile, simply put it into the user-profile-folder.

Hi guys,

i’m a bit desperate. I recently formatted my pc and reinstalled everything.

I have a Bravia KDL-42W670A that prior to the format was able to see PLEX media server without issues and stream over home network. However now, even though everything looks fine, the TV doesn’t see PLEX anymore. My android devices as well as ipad all see plex without a hitch and actually buffer/stream faster than before. But I’ve tried everything with the TV and I can’t get it to work!

Can someone please support?

Can someone please help on the profile for a sony kdl-32w705b? 2013 profile doesn't play when using subtitles.

If possible it would be great if someone could come up with a DLNA profile for the Panasonic ET series of TV's. In particular mine is a TH-L50ET60A and I stream Plex from a Synology 412+ box. I can no longer get it to resume video files from previous viewing position and it also wont fast forward or rewind most files anymore either i.e. in both cases it just skips right back to the very beginning of the file.

Thanks very much,

Hools

Hi!

Does anyone posses proved working profile for Sony Bravia W705B? I have some trouble with playing movies with subtitles from external file, I read somewhere, that this may be resolved by using proper XML profile, for 2014 TV serie.

Or W706B?

Hello, I’m looking for a profile that able to play external subtitles (srt) on my LG TV. It’s WebOS.
Movies played nicely, however the srt is not. If I start TwonkyMediaServer, also the subtitles are okay.

But I prefer Plex for this. So I think I need a profile, or I’d happily create one, if anybody points me to the right direction on how to create it.

Okay, I feel really stupid. But I’ve searched and searched both here and across the whole web.

How the heck do I install one of these profiles AND then get Plex to use it?!?!

I’m sure the answer must be painfully obvious, but I just can’t find it. I’m trying to use the built-in DLNA client on my Vizio Smart TV. (Apparently, mine is too old to use the Plex client built for the Vizio).

Thanks for your help.

This profile works detecting the Samsung LN32D550 wich only allows DLNA(Its not smart TV).
Maybe it can help anyone.

Hey Jeff!

Do you think this profile would work with my Yamaha RX-V479?

Just to clarify, when applying this profile to my PMS does this enable the receiver to be visible to PMS and play audio?

Thanks!
Joe

@joefog ,

What this profile allows you to do is to use the “Server” function to browse your PMS server for music to play. Where this profile would be helpful is if you can already see your server but are having trouble playing back audio. That happens because PMS is sending audio to the receiver that it doesn’t understand. If the networking is set up properly, you should be able to see and browse your PMS server from the unit and possibly play certain types of audio (for example, MP3’s may play but others don’t) without any changes. If you can’t even see the server, the profile won’t help.

It looks like your particular unit may support more types than mine, so the result of using the profile would be that items are transcoded that should not be. In particular, it looks like your unit natively supports ALAC and AIFF. RX-V479 - Overview - AV Receivers - Audio & Visual - Products - Yamaha - United States This profile would cause those types to be transcoded. Given the breadth of codec’s supported by your unit, I’m surprised the default isn’t working.

All that being said, the profile will not work unmodified because I wrote it specifically for my receiver. That being said, you can easily modify the “Device Description” section to test it out. You can probably just remove the ModelName and ModelNumber items and it should be picked up.

Hope that helps.
