Lets see if that works

Hi @ChuckPa -

I put the new update it. I waited until this morning. to go in. Here is the log. I get the same fail as i did in my old DB. Why?

I haven’t really been able to use PMS for a month. Is there something that can be done to fix this or not? I have spent a ton of time on something that was not fixable from my end. I’m super frustrated.

Can i please get some help? Or, an update?

You asked me to post my log yesterday, I did so and have heard nothing. Why would i get the same error on a new database and server? I don’t understand that.

@mdreed72

Please remember I’m recovering from a major health crisis and still have 12 weeks of phys rehab ahead of me. A bit of patience please ?

I see a lot of crap happing which you probably don’t need (unless that’s what you want) but the biggest thing I see is the NAS is still in the process of “Ingesting” the media

Stuff like this:

Jun 05, 2023 22:45:31.603 [546430066912] WARN - Held transaction for too long (/data/jenkins/server/3958313370/Library/MetadataItem.cpp:1156): 104.290000 seconds

make me ask what else (Other apps) is running on the NAS. Are there other media ‘grabbing’ tools running?

ARMv8 isn’t a bad CPU but it does have its limits and those limits aren’t very high.

Are you running out of memory? Some of the things I see (the fluctuations) imply to me that it is.

Something to consider for your Scheduled Task selection AND your library settings.

  1. Credit and Intro detection take a lot of CPU power. Use them sparingly. They are enabled by default.
  2. Chapter thumbnails take CPU power . Again , use sparingly. They are also enabled by default.

This is what I use on the DS418j (1GB ARMv8) and it’s quite happy. It doesn’t bark with any of the issues I see in your logs.

My apologies. Not of the major health crisis (that too), but that I tend to get narrow minded when things like that happen. It’s part of a condition I have .

I put the old database in and walked away. I opened the library’s up and walked away until now.

Nothing has access to the server shared folder. The file folders do get indexed. This is the list of tasks I have run:

One thing I see when watching the console - It scans in a movie like Shutter Island. When it scans again, It has to do expensive tag re-writes. I have two volumes that PMS pulls off of. One is Raid the other is not. Is it reading both of the Raid locations?

I just want it fixed. I will work when ever you have time. The library’s are in. PMS is detecting intros and credits. Not doing anything with Metadata.

I didn’t answer the memory question - no -

I like the intro, credit and thumbnails. They do take up a ton of cpu, but im not running anything else.

Again, I just want it fixed. What ever you want or need me to do I’m for. I would prefer not to have to refresh all of the meta-data in my database every time we try something because it takes a day and a half. If I have to though, I have to!

I am super appreciative of the help so far. Unfortunately, It hasn’t solved the issue.
Please let me know what a reasonable expectation to get some more help?

Thank you again!

I think this can fix my data base. I don’t know if it would but I get those errors. When you have some time, would you please let me know what you think? If you think it can work, would you be able to help me with it?
