Would someone be willing to remote into my system and help me configure a StaticIP and Port Forw?

I used to think I was no PC dumb dumb. The small task of setting up a Static IP and Port Forward for my Plex server has proven otherwise. Setup is straight forward, Comcast is the provider, no Double NAT, straight forward setup with single server station. Just not working. And when using the a standard uPNP with Dynamic IP, Remote access works for a few days, and then stops. If anyone could help out I promise to listen close, and be a good patient. Thanks in advance.

Please help me plexi-one, you’re my only hope.

I’ve posted a few threads about how to set up a static IP and port forward, if you search my threads you should find them.

I apologize Kego’ I could not find your threads specifically. I have however followed several other pieces of instruction and procedures for this config. In each case my Plex server Remote Access capability has continued to fail after a day or two of up time. I suppose I am looking for more Diagnostic advice. Thanks for the reply either way. I suppose plex is worht the 40 buks I paid for the year even as a local solution. It organizes well, gives me device fling as remote control for my home displays. All good. Just cannot get the stability from the Remote Access end. I am sure it is my own config as millions likely enjoy this feature. Just not sure where to turn.

@pshieronymus if you goto canyouseeme.org/
and put in port 32400… do you get “Your ISP is not blocking port 32400”?

Thanks blurb2m, just saw this from my office. I did not know about any port-test sites, cool. Will check as soon as I get home and reply. Thank you again.

Even if that port is blocked there may be a work-around (depends on your router capabilities). If you still need help I’ll gladly help you fix your issue.

I get

“Error: I could not see your service on [IP#] on port (32400)
Reason: Connection timed out”

Are you using the Comcast router or your own?

That’s normal if you don’t have Remote Access enabled correctly. If you want we can do a TeamViewer session and I can set it up for you.

It appears I now have this working correctly. I hope. I made two mistakes, one when setting my static ip address in my adapter properties. I was not basing my new static address based on my default gateway number. After fixing this I still showed that my port was blocked. I then switched my port forward page and my plex Remote Access port to 32400 as mentioned above. Voila. Thanks for the help guys.
