Exhausted all options for remote access troubleshooting

I have tried everything that the troubleshooting and forums have suggested and my remote access still does not work.

My router has UPNP/NATwhatver… I have created a static IP with specified port… I have played around with firewall settings, port forwarding settings, resets, etc, etc, etc… YET THE REMOTE ACCESS STILL DOES NOT WORK… Starting to question why I paid $200 for something that worked for 2 weeks and is now causing so much stress to me.

Please help, anyone out there, thanks so much

Let’s start with breaking down the “whatever” part.
Is your router with the given port-forward you created accessible from the outside (e.g. using a service such as canyouseeme.org)?

just checked public ip & port on there and it says success

it says my ISP is not blocking the port.

so what exactly have you configured in your router?

Just a heads up. I’m very dumb when it comes to all this stuff. LOL.

I was working through the main troubleshooting article.

Made sure UPNP was enabled. Can’t find anything about NAT-pmp settings.

I then went into properties of my wireless network and created a static IP using the info that i got from CMD prompt thingy.

Once IP was set I went in and created a portforwarding for Plex using the IP I created & set port to 50,000.

Do i need to be using the public Ip or private ip in the plex remote settings when i’m setting up port forward?

Glad it is not just me that this is happening to! I’ve even had my IT manager at my work have a look and he’s said that all ports are forwarding correctly, uPNP on, No Double NAT.

Server Logs are attached if this helps, Version is 1.13.8.5395. Windows 10 Home. Any help is appreciated as this is doing my nut in!

port forward is telling the router which requests to a certain port (e.g. 32400 or 50000) to be forwarded to which device in your home network.

Example:
public requests to port 32401 of your router will be forwarded to port 32400 of the computer running your Plex Media Server (identified by its internal IP).

If your router requires a “port range”, just enter the same port twice.
As long as you cannot reach the public IP with the given public port, there’s still an issue on the router or the connection from ISP to your router.

please don’t piggy-ride another person’s post.
General trouble shooting is described in this support article. If it doesn’t help, please create an own post.

PS: logs won’t help when it comes to the configuration of your router / network.

just figured out my problem. My old computer was using wrong IP so when i created static IP it would have worked on old computer. But then i switched to a new computer and turns out my McAfee garbage firewall was running on a trial version, so I deleted it and am just using Windows defender now. And BOOM just like that it started working again. Thanks for your help!
