X-Arcade Joystick with iOS Devices

This is a pretty niche question, but I saw someone asking about a Tankstick for Plex Arcade so I thought I’d ask.

Does Plex Arcade on iOS support keyboard input? I see mention of keyboard only for browser, Mac and Windows but I don’t know if iOS is controller only or not. I guess I could test later.

X-Arcade joysticks pass keyboard input so I’m thinking I could try to hook mine up to my iPad Pro with (1) the X-Arcade serial port to USB adapter and (2) the Apple USB to Lightning adapter, basically passing keyboard input through to Plex Arcade.

Let me know if that’s possible and if not, whether keyboard input is on the roadmap for Plex Arcade at some point.

I tested this on a NES game. The iPad Pro keyboard works in Plex Arcade games and the X-Arcade joystick with the USB adapters comes through so it looks like I’m all set.

I was too hasty.

The keyboard doesn’t work via Plex Arcade iOS for MAME arcade games, my primary intention for using the X-Arcade joystick. Even when I bring the MAME menu up and try to re-map the inputs, the keyboard is ignored which makes me think it’s disabled.

Should the Plex team (formally) expose and support the MAME menu, I would hope they would also bring keyboard input along with it.
