Xbox 360 app is broken for everyone since last update!!!

Audio sync issues. Server connectivity issues. Is Plex aware and are they fixing the issue?

Does anyone know if Plex is working on a fix for the xbox 360 app???

I had to downgrade the Plex Media Server to 0.9.16.6 from 1.x to fix the issue. It was the new version of the media server that is incompatible with the xbox 360 app. As a paid Plex Pass member, I’m upset with Plex support for not even replying to people’s requests for help on this forum.

Hi, I had the same issue since the update, if you are running the plex server on linux see this thread it resolved my issue.

Remove noexec from the fstab as the transcoders won’t work on drives mounted with noexec anymore.

Unfortunately, I’m running Windows 7 because I use WMC as my DVR. Do you know of a fix for Windows?

No, so I found mine by checking the Plex Media Server.log where it said what was happening (not much information I just googled it).

Might be different, my transcoder was just shutting down. I can try and help if you try with the XBox then get the logs when after you have the issue.

There is a setting in the Plex Server from 9.5 onwards not sure if this will help?

From the Plex Wiki:

How do I solve constant audio/video delays?
Some setups that output at “24p” can have small audio/video synchronization issues where the audio is slightly ahead of the video. For such issues in which the sync is constant, you can set a global audio offset for the 0.9.5 or newer desktop client. Find the following file:
OS X:
~/Library/Application Support/Plex/userdata/guisettings.xml
Windows XP, Server 2003 and Home Server:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Plex\userdata\guisettings.xml
Windows Vista, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2, and Windows 7:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex\userdata\guisettings.xml
Open the file in a text editor and set the value for “audiodelay”:

-0.250000

The actual value you use will depend on how big of a delay you have. The above example adjusts by 0.25 seconds.

plex works fine on my computers and tablet and mobile but it is out of sync on my xbox. How do I change the configuration on the xbox 360 directly?

The Plex app is dead on 360. I don’t know why people insist on still using it. It’s old, has terrible codec support due to MS not supporting it properly. You can’t really blame the devs for abandoning it when the Xbox One supports so much more in terms of media codecs.

Well, that is really unfortunate. I use the 360 as an extender for WMC, and it worked very nicely to have plex available on the same device. Is there an announcement that development has ceased?
