Xbox One PLex App - Audio lipsync issues with recorded TV

The plex App on my Xbox one X (fully up to date, Server on latest beta build) is suffering consistent issues with lip sync when playing back recorded TV. Video is about half a second behind the audio - but only on Xbox.

These issues are persistent and reproducible at will. The issue only affects recorded TV, other video files are fine. This issue is only present on the Xbox, multiple PC and Android clients are working fine on the same network when playing back the exact same files.

Xbox has been hard reset, and the plex app for Xbox has been reinstalled multiple times, with the same results each time. I have also installed VLC on the xbox as a workaround and I can play the recorded TV with no issues via VLC and the Plex DLNA server.

Does anyone have any ideas on this issue? Seems like its a bug in the Xbox client to me…

Can you provide a sample of one of the videos that you see the issue with or an XML file for that video?

You can get the XML file by selecting ... > get info > view XML

I`ve attached the XML inside a .TXT file. hopefully this is OK.

I’ve been trying to reproduce the issue on my end with similar files, but not seeing any issues with lip sync. Sadly, my DVR setup does not record content in that format. Can you provide either a sample of the video or PMS logs after you start playback of the video?

Here is how to create a sample: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201035968-generating-sample-files-from-media/

Enable logging on Xbox One first: https://support.plex.tv/articles/206239048-xbox-one-logs/
Then download PMS logs: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/
