Maybe I’m wrong here, but to me all signs still point towards a UWA. And if so, I imagine it would still be a little while away before we receive it.
Maybe I’m wrong, but it would make sense for Plex to cut down on the number of apps they have to maintain where possible.
I just hope that if (when) it does happen, it’s not a case of one step forward and two steps back for us xbox one owners.
That’s my suspicion as well. I’d bet they’re working on a Plex Media Player UWA and we won’t see an update until that’s released.
So release possibly on May 10th ? (If no bugs are found?)
We would be completely guessing if we tried to provide a date! It all depends on how quickly the review process moves, whether we get any rejections and how long it takes us to fix/resubmit if so.
I’m still unable to cast from my android phone to my xbox one. I have both set to always allow insecure connections and it still doesn’t list the xbox one as a connected device. Any ideas? or will the update address this?

Any chance we will see some of the cool stuff the ios app has, like the auto play next episode?
That is one of the feature parity goals, and the primary wait for it was the addition of play queues which were added during the last round of updates, so the chances are high that we will see it soon.
@jmckee When “auto play next” arrives, will I be able to disable it? I know a lot of people like it, but I use Plex mainly for my kids. I try to keep them from watching too much tv. If auto play next is on they either watch more or have a temper tantrum when I discover a new episode has started and I turn it off.

This is just a guess, but I imagine the functionality will be the same as with other clients which would equate to:
From On Deck Hitting X will play the item (Quick start) and start the next items via autoplay when it ends.
Using A to go into the pre-play screen (With the descriptions) then hitting the Play button from that screen will not cause auto play to start.
Typically this is not something that is made a toggle as it has the different ways to actually access it. For your situation I think it will mostly depend on if you’re selecting the shows or your kids are. If you are, you can control whether or not the auto play starts by using the play button from item description screen. If they are, you’ll have a heads up if you notice which screen the playback starts from.

There are some fixes for Companion control in the update, but there is also a server fix coming.
As for auto-playing items, this will work if you play from the Show or Season level. Playing from the item page or from On deck (currently) will not automatically play the next item.
