I ‘think’ I like the new interface but it is going to take a while to get used to after years of the old interface on Xbox, Roku and Windows 10.
Some feedback:
I hope Live TV and DVR is coming soon!
Playlists are a bit hidden as you need to go into the library before they show up.
It’s quick! I have a playlist of about 1000 videos that took seconds to load on the old version, this one is nearly instant.
I had to remove my Plex cloud server as you can’t seem to change the order when going into the libraries
being able to turn off navigation sounds is great.
wish they would of had the smooth animation transition with the background when you scroll up and down on tiles or even go up on the menu to pick the library like they do on the PC version. right now it feels clicky
Most of my content are dual language, german and english, with german as main.
With the new app, plex only plays english in series (it doesnt matter what i choosed) and in movies, sometimes german, sometimes english, sometimes nothing.
This app is not what i expected after using the win10 uwp. =(

This app just shows the alpabetic first library af films, music, etc. for having my films organized in differrent libraries (3D, music films. etc) i can not use this app.

You need to navigate to one of the hubs, press up on a remote, then you get a list of your other libraries you can browse through. It’s not very intuitive.

Same, usually french and English but only English plays
First off i would like to say its nice to now see some xbox development, i feel i have been waiting a long time for this.
Right,
I can confirm for myself that alexa still does not see the plex player, (Granted i installed new Plex App last night straight after i seen twitter so not sure if its coming in a couple of days)
But the most worrying thing is playback, I use to stream everything on direct stream (Not Direct play), this was because xbox app would always buffer but on stream was perfect. Last night i had to keep starting my movie over/resume as it kept saying there was a problem playing this file. to resolve i would click play and pick quality 1 lower then original and it would be perfect.
*The movie in question is always being played in my house, as my son loves it, so i no my internet is fine 65Mbps, xbox is cabled, and plex box is 100% fine. I was watching it fine before i kicked son off xbox to install the new app
-I will be giving the Plex App a good testing over the weekend,

Great update. I found 1 issue and 1 feature missing.
Subtitles stop to work after a while, you need to select them again if you want to keep using them.
Movie sort by unwatched is not available anymore. (but it is for TV shows).
Where should I report this?
I also had subtitles stop working during the middle of a movie. Another thing I noticed is chapter markers are missing. They still work but no indicators.
I really hate that one of the things the old Plex for Xbox was lagging behind was autoplay (ie: on most other platforms, if you went into a season of tv, scrolled through the list, and played an episode, it’d autoplay the next one). It appears the new version of Plex for Xbox still does not have this ability, and you have to press play with the entire season selected to enable autoplay.
Small quality of life issues, I suppose, but the lack of these small quality of life features has always been jarring for me when switching between Plex on most platforms and Plex on Xbox One, and it’s sad that they’re still missing these simple features while having a new jazzy interface.
@carlos.miguelanez@gmail.com @jzm0066 We’re looking into the subtitles issue. You can filter movies by Unwatched, or you can sort them by viewed date, is that the functionality you’re looking for?
@br3nn88 Some server logs would be great, with logging to server enabled in the app.
@norrgrd Not sure what you mean, there’s still an entry in the actions menu dropdown to mark the item as watched/unwatched.
@Smiling Maybe We don’t have autoplay from a single episode because we don’t have a postplay screen yet. That should change in the future. Playing the item from On Deck should create a playqueue though.
Thanks for the feedback guys, we’re working our way through them!
