Just got the newest update available as of today 6.1.23, and I’m wondering why is there still no support for watching 4K content on our consoles, Netflix is recognized as a 4K content provider when I start it and my TV shows the Dolby Vision as well as the AMD FreeSynce logos. Why does it seem that nobody at Plex is trying to make this work for Plex app on the Xbox consoles. I have 4K movies that don’t even transcode into 1080p and stream at 720p…If I want to watch any of my higher quality content I have to use the Plex app on my Vizio TV…Please someone make this work as it should on the Xbox consoles.
I don’t know why but Plex on Xbox (and PS5) considers that you are not local.
You must put original for remote and local video.
For Dolby Vision you can’t play an MKV file.
If I understood correctly, the file would have to be re-encoded in MP4 with just the Dolby Vision video track.
