Xbox plex app resume bug

My xbox is set to “sleep” when it is turned off.

If the plex app is open on my xbox, and im in a show / episode (by navigating to it via “Browse”), when I resume, I can navigate around but cannot then select any shows when I back out of one show to the “Browse” screen.
When trying to select another show, it makes the “selection” noise, but nothing happens.

To fix this, I either have to close the app, or back out to the Library selection screen and go back into “Browse” to select a show.

Is there a work around besides closing the app eery time?

Trying to look into this more for you. I do remember seeing this type of behavior a long time ago, but have not seen it personally for a bit now. I had a lot of changes on my home setup though (New internet, new router, new switch, switched from One to One S, etc) so not sure if something I did myself changed that. But when I found out more I will let you know.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, not sure. Is it because I have a day1 xbox one? The kinect is connected, so I may try disconnected that and see if it helps (it utilizes 17% gpu when it’s connected)

Day1 xbox wouldn’t be the issue. This was a problem a long time ago, but was fixed in the most recent version of the app. Not sure why it would’ve come back, but yes, until a new version of the app comes out you’re probably stuck closing the app and restarting. Maybe a cold boot will help clear the issue for a longer time so you’re not constantly closing the app.

Hmm, when will the app be updated?

It also seems to have an issue with streams from my media server (such as video/audio sync issues). The original files play fine in the web plex app, or when I browse the network share of the mp4/mkv.

When the developers release an update. Unfortunately, they don’t give timelines so beyond knowing they’re working on an update I have no idea when it will be coming and can’t provide any extra insight into it =/

This really should be in it’s own topic to investigate as it is completely unrelated to the resuming of the app after system power on. But additional information would need to be gathered such as server version, type of playback, and server logs. Most likely, this would be seen with transcoded streams that are having trouble getting placed back together. A direct played file is treated and played the same as a stream using the media player (which is why we would need more information in troubleshooting it)

I did speak with the developers about this issue and was informed that it was indeed an issue that was reported previously and should not relevant anymore and be fixed in the next release. (Sadly, as I mentioned above I have no idea when it’s coming and even when I bug them about it they don’t give me any extra insight into timeline stuff)

Thanks for your help, I’ll open a new discussion about the other issue.

I appreciate the insight, and understand that no timetables can be given. Just was curious when the next PROD release was at least scheduled. Thanks anyways

No worries at all! I keep checking with them (I am a big proponent of the Xbox One app) and can’t wait for the next release myself. I do keep prodding them myself to get an update on how it’s coming along for a release because I know it sucks just waiting. In my case I have very few issues with the app and it sucks waiting, so when I know bug fixes are coming for other users I know Moussa and others are working hard to get this out for everyone.

I just wish there was some date range of a release, even if it’s few months

Or even if the latest build has passed your QA team and has been submitted for Microsoft cert.
