xTeVe - IPTV for Plex DVR

something very strange just restarted it all again and it seems to have forgotten the channels I added as well might try reinstalling plex

Wait, I’ll give it a try.

Very strange, it works for me

I am at a loss I have tried everything, so confused

It seems that Plex is not deleting the DVR when I delete it, so when I restart Plex it loads the old config

Maybe the scheduled server maintenance will help.

so I changed it to 3 tuners to try it then changed it back to 2 and now I have lol

Managed to work it out, i had to add as a different number of tuners restart plex, then load channels, restart plex, then add 2 tuners again

I would like to get in on this. I see you are not releasing any more betas, but any idea as to when a public version would be available?

So I’ve just gotten an IPTV service with over 1000 channels and I’ve been using Telly and the plex epg data from a local provider but times are off and the guide is even wrong sometimes. My IPTV provider does provide XML files for epg data. Can someone confirm that this utility is what I need to make my life way better than manualy doing all this? If so I would love to get into the beta, I have a unique setup to test on.

I run an unraid server, so I would be testing a linux vm running this software and my plex is running in a docker on the server

In a few weeks, the public version should be ready.

As already described above, I have no keys anymore. But the public version is coming soon.

The assignment of the channels happens on the basis of the tvg-id tag / channel id. The next version of xTeVe can reroute wrong mappings, but your provider already has to deliver a proper XMLTV file.

So the xml file they gave me contains channel IDs and icons and everything. looks well formatted and everything so I think it should work. And the m3u info that comes up when mapping channels in plex show similar tags next to the channel numbers. So does this mean my provider should work with xTeVe?

So without having seen your XMLTV file, it would have to work.

I have it attached if someone could confirm that it’s proper. If it’ll work I am supper pumped about this utility!
p2.xml.gz (5.6 MB)

Does it only match to the tvg-id? What about the the tvg-name…

eg. my m3u file reads

tvg-name=“BBC One HD” tvg-id=“BBC1.uk

my xmltv reads

channel id=“BBC One HD”

Yes, that works

Does Plex do the assignment correctly?

No, I have to manually assign every channel

Yes, because the channel id is wrong. In the new version of xTeVe you have to do it once. xTeVe then generates its own XMLTV file with the correct IDs, so the Plex has a hit rate of 100%.
