xTeVe - IPTV for Plex DVR

Hello, and sorry if this is a stupid question but has anyone had luck installing [xTeVe] on Mac? I don’t know if I have just become stupid but I have no idea how to install this. would love some guidance, Thanks in advance.

Nevermind, just found out i need a beta key.

This looks awesome… I’m using Telly right now but will definitely come back here to check for updates on your project. Any chance this gets Dockerized once your public version is ready?

I’m a web developer with a good eye for design, would love to contribute if this goes open source.

I wish there was more beta keys to be offered. Also, a patreon or something of the sorts offering would be nice.

yes the logos are displayed

Hello,

Just a question…

it’s is possible to setup a single m3u for each tuner?

or if i put four m3u with the same channel and not the same login and pass… xteve will go on the other stream available?

Thanks!

sorry for my englist…

No you can not do that, but why do you want to do that?

My provider give me a m3u for each activation… so i have 4 m3u … it’s just for that…

The idea is that you can set up multiple providers in xTeVe, xTeVe then generates a single M3U file with all streams. Double streams in Plex is also not possible with most M3U files.
If you want to watch more streams at the same time, your provider has to allow that.

it’s ok … if i put many recording at the same time… xteve seem to be able to jump from link to other if the channel is the same… for live tv with other client… is more difficult… i will testing that…

Plex notices when you look at a stream several times. Plex then sets up only a single connection to the provider and then distributes the streams to all clients who want to see the same channel.

And if i have 2 providers with the packages channel… how xteve will manage it?

The tuners are the specifications of your provider.
Tuner = number of simultaneous number of allowed streams.
If you have more than one provider, you choose the number of least streams.
Example:
Provider A: 3 streams
Provider B: 2 streams
xTeVe Tuner = 2

xTeVe knows which stream you are playing, but Plex does not return any status if the stream is still playing.

Just to elaborate…

Provider A: 1 stream
Provider B: 1 stream
xTeVe Tuner = 1?

Also, if Provider A+B are actually the same provider but with different login details = treat as different providers?

Am I correct?

Yes, Tuner = 1.

I understand why you have two accounts with the same provider.
If your provider has a problem, the other account does not work either.
If you want to see more streams at the same time, look for a provider that allows you to do that.

How should Plex know which stream comes from which Accout?

No provider is pefekt, so there is the possibility in xTeVe several set up.

Its not a problem for me - my provider allows 5 simultaneous streams - and its working great

I just thought I would just simplify it for other people in case they were wondering.

I think you’re going to mess up everyone here

I need your help with a very “basic” problem.
After the setup, the “xteve-device” gets immediately flagged as device not found. But the webinterface is still workin, so it cant be “offline”.
Playback does work for a moment, but crashes.
can someone give me a hint? What type of logs are needed?

Did you ever restart Plex?
