It was an issue caused by Plex seeing every channel as a movie channel and therefore trying to match everything as a movie. Turning off the āEnhanced Guideā feature was what I needed to do previously - but this resulted in nothing having posters etc.
In xTeVe web manager - under mapping - you need to click on each channel and assign the correct āPMS Category:ā
Basically setā¦
Then Save the mapping and reload the guide in Plex.
This worked straight away for me but if it doesnāt change the ones you are having trouble with try turning off the āEnhanced Guideā feature (Plex Settings -> Live TV & DVR -> DVR Settings), reloading the guide, then turning it back on again and reloading the guide again. If it still doesnāt change - remove the DVR and start from scratch
For me it is synonymous with some programs. For XML, itās normal to replace special characters like '<> " with special XML characters, so Iāll try to find out why that sometimes looks so weird in Plex.
xTeVe uses Golangās built-in XML framework to process XML.
Are your original XMLTV files in UTF-8
Are your original XMLTV files in UTF-8
Yes it is UTF-8
It only does it with the titles⦠special characters in the descriptions stay as they are ![]()
im on 1.0.2
Ah, its a feature of 1.1.0
Like I said in my previous post⦠turning off the āEnhanced Guideā will also fix it but you wonāt get posters etc for anything.
ok thanks updated after restart you rock
i found restarting plex fixes it
Iām using this on a QNAP. So Iām not even sure how to check. I uninstalled. Then reinstalled back to version 1.0.2. Same error during setup.
I have now found that it is happening to my source xml file⦠although I realised that it wasnāt just happening in the titles. If there was a ā in the title it was changing it but not in the description. It is changing & in both titles and descriptions.
However, when xTeVe creates a new xml file it seemed to double the āamp;ā bit
I have sorted it so that as Webgrab+ downloads the info, it changes the & to + and removes the ā from everything - no more problem
Can I get a key for the beta?
Thanks!
Just wanted to clarify somethingā¦
I have 2 HDHomerun Prime Cable Card tuners configured, using the FIOS EPG via Grace/Plex.
I have xTeVe up and running, and am using XEPG, and have complete the mapping.
Upon adding the tuner it always asks me to map it to a FIOS EPG Guide channel.
SO to make this work I would have to:
Is that the gist of it?
Its no longer in beta - no key is required
I aslo have the same problem as chriskeens with & and ā characters. Iād rather have them display correctly in the xteve.xml than remove them.
Since the new version xteve does not remain open. It will be closed after all updates within a few seconds. How can I make sure that it continues to run?
I too would rather not have to remove them⦠mine is more of a temporary fix.
If you are on Windows - try running it as administrator. I find that when an update comes out, xTeVe will try to update and crash. If run again without admin rights it will try to update again and crash again. Running as admin to do the update normally works to allow the update to complete.
I run it as an administrator from the beginning, but unfortunately it doesnāt help. The update went through problem-free, but now he downloads the EPGĀ“s and divides everything cleanly but then comes the line with the link where you can open it and then he closes the window again and I can no longer adjust or use anything. No matter what I do.
will you push it to the official plugin directory to be able to install on shield tv?
