xTeVe - IPTV for Plex DVR

@marmei Love the app, it’s great. My provider allows 5 streams, so I set xteve to show 5 tuners, but Plex DVR only shows it as 2 tuners. Thoughts?

Is there a way to order the channels manually, other then changing it in the m3u?

Restart Plex, if that does not help, delete the tuner in Plex and set it up again.

You can change the order of the channels in the xTeVe Mapping menu (EPG source = XEPG). Plex then takes over the channel positions.

@marmei . I’ve restarted a bunch of times, and deleted and added it twice. still only show 2 tuners, not 5.

Then the database of Plex is faulty.
Open the settings.json data from xTeVe
There is an entry “uuid” Change one of the letters

“uuid”: “2018-10-FNLZ-QUTMEV”,

Then you have to set up xTeVe again in Plex

@marmei . That worked. After changing one letter of UUID, I rebooted xteve and Plex, and all is well. I did not have to set anything else up.

So, I’m missing something. I have the XMLTV and M3U importing fine, I can see my 5 tuners, I have filtered out the 730 channels from my provider into 219 via the filter option and 219 are mapped in the Mapping section to the XMLTV…

But Plex is not seeing any of the mapped channels with the exception of one local which is mapped to my HDHomeRun EPG… when I click the down arrow on importing, I can only see the EPG data coming from my HDHomeRun… not xTeVe… ideas?

I did that, and it didnt change the order. Ill try again.

is it just me or did somthing happen recently that I keep getting this erorr and will no longer load and so i have to keep copying and replacing my settings since xteve will no longer restore correctly? I say that bc my #'s got scrambled and would not restore them and so I manually restored them.

or somthing happen recently to vaders and will no longer read a complete 100% xml. roughly stuck at 60%.

[xTeVe] [ERROR] XML syntax error on line 234470: invalid character entity & (no semicolon) -

and then later after a reboot on the device, xteve will get stuck at the json file and ends program.

other errors.

[ERROR] open /root/xteve/data/X6TJ33HGP8UBM4PUTPFF.xml: no such file or directory - File not found
[ERROR] p2.xml: Local copy of the file no longer exists -
[ERROR] EOF -

I’ve check’d at whatever line to see the trouble and nothing seemed to be wrong with it. Even edit there as well which was info of a show having the colons ; ; ; , erased those and still didn’t solve it. But everything seemed to match before and after that line for the guide.

I’ve also deleted & or renamed the data file directory to get a new fresh start, it worked but later kept ending in back where I started. json - EOF error at the /root/xteve directory

Hi,
I have installed xteve on the plex server. I have xteve running and restarted several time the plex server (service plexmediaserver restart).
Every time the tuner is appearing for few seconds and the disappear and no way to add it manually (click but no response). Once or twice I was quick enough to go to the next step and I saw the channels, but then everything goes away.
The uPnP is enable on the network and no firewalls internally and mainly on the same machine.
The xteve is running on a dedicated user and up (web interface is working)
Anyone as any idea/suggestion?

Thanks in advance

If you have another tuner in Prex, turn it off to set up xTeVe

Vaders does not comply with the XML specification, xTeVe checks every file before it is used. If the file is OK, it will be saved locally (X6TJ33HGP8UBM4PUTPFF.xml). If the file has failed updating, the last working version (X6TJ33HGP8UBM4PUTPFF.xml) will be used, xTeVe writes this hint to the log. I suspect you deleted the local file. Report the XML error to Vaders.

Plex allows only one EPG source, since you use the EPG from your HDHR tuner, the Plex no longer gives the ability to specify the XMLTV file from xTeVe

Will try. Thanks

what the [shield.support] in the settings.json option ?

This is a workaround for this bug, in the current Plex Beta this has already been fixed.

Is their any way to filter better?.. I want to filter with SE as Swedish… but sins some versions back… it filter if words have se in it… any tip?

The keywords result from a playlist. The filter searches everything in your playlist for the filter term. You can search for channels, groups, IDs whatever.

Important the filter is processed from top to bottom.
Example: You have a group called USA in your playlist (M3U: group-title=“USA”).
Filter line 1:

USA

xTeVe now shows you only the channels from this group.

If in the USA group, channels are included in different versions:
Version 1: ESPN HD
Version 2: ESPN FHD
Version 3: ESPN UHD

And now you just want to filter the FHD channels, you change the first filter:
Filter line 1:

USA {FHD}

xTeVe now shows all channels from the USA group that have the character FHD in their name.

If you still want to have Canadian FHD channels, but no channels from TSN and ESPN.
Filter line 2:

Canada {FHD} !{TSN,ESPN}

Each time a filter is saved, another filter can be added to a new line
Filtering multiple groups (USA and Canada) only FHD channels:

USA {FHD}
Canada {FHD}

Brilliant!
Is their anyway to easly change or sort the order of the channels in Plex?.. like in name order… ?
