thank you for a great tool! My IPTV provider allows 2 streams to be played with the same M3U (I test that with VLC by opening 2 sessions and watching 2 channels simultaneously.)
When I use the M3U in xTEVE, I configure 2 tuners however only 1 tuner can play at any given time. Is there something I am doing wrong?
Thanks again for all your help in responding to everyone!
Presumably, the links of the logos can not be reached. If you mapp the channels, the logo from the XMLTV file will be overworked, maybe the links will fail there
I can see 2 tuners. I watch one channel then on another device I try to watch another channel. I donāt get any message from plex saying all tuners are in use, so itās not a tuner count issue. after playing for a few seconds, the first stream crashes and I get a ārecording failedā error
Iāve just figured out when its doing it. When I change the channel number in the mapping the logo will dissapear from xTeVe but when the M3U file is initally loaded it imports the logos
Iāve got a new iptv provider that works now and it is almost smooth sailing.
My issue now is with the listings. If i use on xteve the EPG PMS i get some channels recoginzed on plex and with listings, and viewable on the webgui --> LIVE TV & DVR --> Guide
However If i use the EPG XEPG i get the channels detected (they are green on xteve webgui, with xteve dummy xmltv file, but plex will not recognize the channels as valid, and with no guide.
Good day all. New to this app and it has worked great by and large. I think, though, the experimental stream buffering is pretty important. Has anyone had much success with it? Iām trying with my IPTV service and continue to have errors. Nothing plays and it seems Plex hangs up the connection per xTeVe logs.
Thank you so much for this effort. As the author stated, the IPTV app selections for cable cutters on Apple TV is just absolutely horrid and pure garbage. I think this will go a long way in determining the failure of the Apple TV as a streaming device unless Apple stops being so ānorth-koreanā about it. Everyone is going the Android TV route and for good reason.
Now that my rant is over, I would like to ask a question. I installed xTeve just fine on the same host that runs my Plex server. Everything seems normal on the xTeve end. It downloads the xmltv guide from my IPTV provide. It authenticates to my IPTV m3u playlist with no issue. I entered a filter and xTeve detects 249 streams out of the 7000+ my IPTV provider offers.
The problem is, when adding it to my Plex server, I get an error. I entered the IP address of my host PC (192.168.1.5:34400) and Plex sees the channel list but then when continuing the Add DVR wizard, Plex says there was an error adding the DVR. So basically, it fails to add it to Plex. Any ideas?
I also own an HDHomeRun device that Plex picks up fine with no issues. So XTeve should become a second tuner in my Plex configuration.
Yeah, the app doesnāt seem too difficult aside from me not knowing what filters to set to capture with. For what itās worth I found two channels that worked fine. All my sports ones failed, but some local channels worked fine. Odd.
@marmei I did as you indicated and had the same issue. On the initial attempt, Plex sees the xTeve tuner for like 2 seconds and it disappears on its own before I can click continue. Then it is just stuck scanning trying to find the tuner. But then I enter the IP address of my server and then I can click Continue. After that, it says āwe found 10 channelsā which makes no sense, since xTeVe says far more. Then the next screen seems to be to map channels to the guide, but then when clicking Continue, a message says āThere was a problem adding a new device to your DVR. Please try again.ā And I am stuck there, so I cannot add it.
