xTeVe - IPTV for Plex DVR

Hi…
what does that mean exactly? Nothing has changed with my provider and I don’t use a VPN. It happened to coincide with a reboot of my server, which seems odd.
I’m not sure what or why it’s listening for 224.0.0.0…is that something that can be changed?

thnx.

Why does your computer use a multicast IP address? These addresses are used for VPN routing. Port 1900 is used for DLNA.

I’m not actually a Plex user these days, but had exactly the same error while using xTeVe with emby, you just need to shut down Plex server, THEN run xteve. I gather it is known as “the dlna bug”. Since I started it that way, the problem has not re-occurred for a week. EODCrafter kindly helped me with that one on the xTeVe Discord channel.

You might not remember at this point, but where did you add &format=ts to in order to resolve the “PMS can not play m3u8 streams”?

IL à indiqué que la version 2.0 (1 à 2 mois) prendra en charge les M3U8
il serait sympa (comme avec VLC) de prendre en charge les chaines live de https://youtu.be.xxxxx .

Hi…thanks for that.
To be honest…I’ve given up now. I’ve removed plex, i even did a restore on my Imac from last week when xteve worked…still the same issue.
I can run xteve in a windows environment, but not a Mac one.
I don’t understand enough as to what it’s looking for on this port 1900, and whether it can be changed…

I’ll check in here once in a while to see if anyone else the issue and is able to resolve, but in the meantime I’ll rely on Emby for IPTV I think.

Cheers

Hello,

Did you found a solution, i have the same issue.
I have a HDHR But not setup. When i try to add Xteve Tunel, it appears few seconds then disapear. No way to add it again, it looks like if it has been installed before, it cannot be installed again.

Hi, I succeeded somehow via several attempt. Each time I had to delete the tuner and redo everything. I think that my problem is that I have a rooter with IPTV enabled and I am not able to remove. This is interfering with xTeve.
Sorry to not bring a proper solution

Server: Synology DS-918+
Docker image: Bl0m1-xtevedocker 1.4.3
EPG: 4 sources, via Schedules Direct using EPG123 to process in to xmltv
IPTV sources : x2
Player: PMS v 1.15.3.858

I seem to have a problem in that Plex finds the xmltv file offered by xTeVe and automatically maps the channels, but the tv guide never populates and the airings show 0.

I have it running well on another server using Gracenote as I just use one source from one country (i.e. select a zip and channel provider), but when I use my own combined xmltv file it won’t load the guide. Admittedly the xmltv file the epg123 produced is big (2,505 Channels, 830,543 Programs and >1GB) but should not that be a problem if xTeVe has processed it correctly. I have filtered the 8k+ channels down to <10 channels to avoid the plex channel count limitation but still nothing.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

There is an XMLTV bug in Plex version 1.15.xx, use the local path of the xteve.xml file

the xml file and PMS are hosted on separate machines - I guess I’ll have to work out a solution. Thanks for the heads up

So I spent 6 hours switching everything over and it now works really well. My only issue is with epg123. I set it schedule the update at 2.00am and it appeared to run - but it did not export a new XMLTV file and the log shows an error. Do I need to have it closed or opened as an admin? I know this is not Plex specifically, but I know @marmei you doing the same.

thanks

I do not use epg123, I create XMLTV files with guide2go:

Thanks. Just installed the latest version (1.15.3.876) of Plex today and it is giving me the “unknown status” error using a local xmltv file. Seems today’s release hasn’t made things any better…worse in fact. Anyone else having problems?

So im new to IPTV/xteve and I’ve just set it up and having a few issues im trying to work through. Here is what I have.

  1. I have xteve /PMS running on a Mac
  2. xteve is running and loads the m3u/xml files and the channels appear to be mapped properly in xteve.
  3. xteve found 2802 streams, went through the filtering process and brought the channels down to 475
  4. in xteve settings I see M3U Streams 475/2802
  5. PMS LiveTV/DVR is setup and goes through the refreshing guide data process, finds only 76 channels even though xteve sees 475
  6. the 76 channels appear to work properly but they aren’t mapped properly. If I put on CNN.us I get an Irish channel, Fox.us I get hallmark channel.

I suspect xteve is setup properly and seeing the channels properly, I think the problem is in PMS but I don’t even know where to start looking

scroll up a few posts. Plex bug

Thank you, So I probably just complicated things for myself. In an effort to try and work this thing out, I deleted my Plex settings and figured I would start the configuration process again inside of Plex. Now even though im logged in and running PMS its telling me the server is unclaimed, I try reclaiming it, it appears to work but as soon as I try to setup LiveTV/DVR again I get the “No Soup For You!” error and won’t allow me to admit the server. Been screwing around with this for about 12 hours and getting frustrated.

Do you know if there is a limit on the number of shows or size in the xmltv file that plex accepts? I seem to be having problems around 252 listings using an xteve.xml file that is approaching 128MB. I am downloading 2 weeks of data and about to try 1 week to see if that improves things.

Update: dropped it to a week and it seems to be working better - programs went from 440k to 220k in the xmltv file. The file size dropped to 78MB from 128MB so guess there is a limit. It also appears that the 480 stream limit is influenced by this 128MB xmltv file limit as I can get more channels in (500+) as long as I the file size stays below this limit - reducing to 5 days may enable me to have 600 channels…will report back when I get around to it

When I use this guide2go script, will it also show the actors starring in the tv show/movie in plex, when checking the epg ?

I started using xTeVe with Plex, and the OS is Ubuntu. I have a problem, maybe somebody can help me. Everything works well, except the xTeVe stops working about every 30 seconds, and i have to manually restart it. This is what i see in terminal:

019/04/08 12:36:09 [xTeVe] [ERROR] listen udp4 224.0.0.0:1900: bind: address already in use -
