xTeVe - IPTV for Plex DVR

That’s the DLNA bug. xTeVe must be running before Plex. Plex is using the UPNP/DLNA port 1900.

Stop Plex and then restart xTeVe and you should be up and running again. I had quite a while of frustration with that one.

Incidentally, the xTeVe Discord channel is a wonderful place for support. There are some extremely helpful and knowledgeable people on there.

No actor information is not yet supported

You can also disable the DLNA server in Plex. Only one DLNA server is allowed to run on a computer, so xTeVe will stop working for you.

Thanks, it was that. Solved the problem, but now facing to another… The xTeVe device dissapears from the DVR devices in Plex in about every 30 seconds… Any idea?

I do not know the solution, however. I thought it was a program, browser, system. Unfortunately, I still cut the TV through the browser. It works just fine on the Plex app for android.

Can it depend on the IPTV provider?

At Kodi and other programs, everything works well. Only when I watch TV through a browser is every minute a TV program buffers.

I have a question i can’t find the answer to.

I want Xteve to use the logo urls from my tvheadend m3u playlist file, and not from the XMLTV epg data. Is that possible ?

if there are no logos in the XMLTV file, the logos of the M3U will be used. You can not do this manually.

Any way to wok around this ?
Can i run a script that removes the logo’s from the XML file before Xteve starts reading it ?

When I first started using xTeVe, I didn’t like the logos provided by my IPTV, so I found URL’s to better logos, checked the Update Logos box and entered the replacement URL. I haven’t had any issues

Ok that could work, but it wil take some effort doing this …

Does the logos url support authentication ?
like http://username:password@tvheadend/logo/npo1

Hi

Sorry, I am actually an emby user. I only messaged about the other error because I remembered how frustrated I got from the same error.

The best place for xTeVe support is:- [https://discordapp.com/channels/465222357754314767/480651771262533633](http://The xTeVe discord channel)

It’s a regular problem, and the #read-first section will take you through it.

Thanks for xteve.

I got this alot: 2019-04-12 11:39:48 [xTeVe] [ERROR] websocket: close 1006 (abnormal closure): unexpected EOF - WebUI request error

I connect to xteve by localhost

Can anyone tell me how to make Xteve use the “Channel-ID” from the M3U? When importing the channels they get to be all over the place, with no specific order.

Thanks!

Edit:

Here’s an example.

“_file.m3u.id”: “MEZRH385WW5WUYJZB1R2”,
“_file.m3u.name”: “Unlimited IPTV”,
“_file.m3u.path”: “C:\Users\anthonws\xteve\data\MEZRH385WW5WUYJZB1R2.m3u”,
“_uuid.key”: “channel-id”,
“_values”: “1 Rtp1.pt RTP 1 PT LIVE: Portugal ,RTP 1 PT\r “,
“channel-id”: “1”,
“group-title”: “LIVE: Portugal”,
“name”: " ,RTP 1 PT”,
“tvg-id”: “Rtp1.pt”,
“tvg-logo”: “xxxxxxx”,
“tvg-name”: “RTP 1 PT”,
“url”: “xxxxxxxxx”,
“x-active”: false,
“x-category”: “-”,
“x-channelID”: “1008”,
“x-epg”: “x-ID.0”,
“x-group-title”: “LIVE: Portugal”,
“x-mapping”: “Rtp1.pt”,
“x-name”: " ,RTP 1 PT”,
“x-update-channel-icon”: false,
“x-update-channel-name”: false,
“x-xmltv-file”: “XJD7V6C4ZAHYDACD3348.xml”

xTeVe uses the order of your M3U playlist. Changes to the filter also affect the order in the mapping. The channel-id is used to identify the channels

So, the order is correct, but the channels appear out of order.
“Channel-Id”:“1” is maped into “x-channel-ID”:“1008”.

If I change the property from “channel-id” to “x-channelID” in the M3U, will that order be followed when importing the M3U into Xteve?

Thanks

Why do not you change the channel numbers in the web interface?

That would fail the entire purpose of trying to use tools to numbering channels. Even if not many, 100+ channels is still a bit.
And my guess would be that automation is something that everyone is on nowadays. Not repetition of manual tasks

Anyways, when importing it to Plex and mapping it to my local cable provider EPG, the provider channel number is applied and therefore I’m happy.

Now on to understand why some channels that are mapped to the cable provider via Gracenote are showing “Unknown airing”…

Cheers,
anthonws.

I assume you’re using Xtream Editor, the parameter channel-id has come up with your provider, just like any other parameter in an M3U playlist. There is no standard as to how an M3U should look. Thus, it is difficult to automate the import so that it is the right order for everyone. I suspect that more than 90% of people are dissatisfied with the order of the channels in the M3U, since Plex has no way to edit the channels, I have developed the mapping function. So everyone has the opportunity to create their own order.

Thanks a lot for that! I hope the previous message didin’t passed like I was complaining  It was just an observation and a how to for someone to import things into Xteve properly.

And yes, Plex is highly limited on channel order and EPG settings. A little bit more customization would be good. Just a little bit more. Like having to redo everything again when you just want to edit on channel where you got the wrong EPG mapping.

Anyways, I’m happy. Thanks for your efforts and continue rocking!

Good morning Marmei I tried Xteve and the truth works very well but I come from the complement of Cigaras that plex is forcing us to leave because they do not go out to customers (tv, iphone, etc).
With IPTV Cigaras I sent my currents in m3u8 (h264-aac) and plex let them pass and did not transcode. With ts streams as we use in Xteve plex, it strives to transcode them to m3u8.
Will there be any way to send m3u8 in Xteve?
Thank you
