xTeVe - IPTV for Plex DVR

I’ve been having issues getting xTeVe talking to Plex. Every time I try to add it as a ‘tuner’, it tells me to scan for channels. Then when attempting to scan for channels, it errors saying ‘no channels’. Uploaded screenshot of Plex UI and xTeVe. Help?

You have to assign the channels in the mapping menu first. Only active (green) channels are passed to Plex.

If I already have a HDHomeRun physically set up for Plex, I can run this side-by-side, yes? When I was trying to add the channel (was testing by doing just one channel instead of all), it was showing me my antenna channels.

You can set up any number of tuners in Plex, the problem is the EPG. Plex allows you to use only the EPG data for one location. If the Plex EPG contains all the channels you need, you can do that.

Is it possible to add a gz file?

Can I merge multiple EGP even if xteve doesnt have those channels, so I can build a new EGP for all tuners I have connected to Plex within xteve.

IE Merge local EGP, with IPTV EGP, and feed both to Plex, even though xteve only has IPTV channels?

Yes gz works

You can merge multiple XMLTV files with xTeVe. xTeVe then generates an optimized XMLTV file for Plex.

QQ and I apologize if I missed this… Can xTeVe support multiple concurrent streams? If so is there a limit? It sounds like many providers are limited to one but I have found at least one (Titanium) that will support two… I’m thinking of this as an option to finally cut the cord with Plex integration but I know I will need at least two if not three simultaneous recordings to match what I do with my current DVR… Also if there are any suggested services I’m very open to options.

The limit is Plex, if you change the number of tuners in the xTeve settings to 2, then Plex can play / record two different streams.

That’s great news I know with my silicondust I have a 4 tuner so hoping to do another 2- 4 with streams. So are there any specific streams providers that do or don’t work?

I have expressed myself badly. Is it possible for Xteve to export the file in gz format?

No that is not possible, but a good idea

So, any chance this would work with locast.org?

Have an issue when I have this many channels which is below the 408 for Plex. Plex errors out when adding and does not see the guide. Once I remove about 50 channels it works just fine,. Any idea?

No, because you don’t have the streams for Locast.org and even if you pull the streams problematically to make an M3U you would have to keep doing this constantly as the stream constantly change.

Been using xteve for a while now and I’m loving the functionality in Plex. Great work marmei.

One question. Is there any way at all to make a channel active that doesn’t have an EPG match? Some of my channels (especially PPV stuff) doesn’t have a guide match, so I can’t add them to Plex.

Is there a way of doing this that I missed?

Yes there is

In xTeVe goto mapping, choose the channel you want to put the “dummy EPG” on. And then choose this for XMLTV File/Channel Name:

Oh man. Can’t believe I missed that .

Thanks a lot.

I’m looking for some info.
1, I’d like to run xteve with a specific ip address so that plex and always see it (in case of reboots etc).
2. I’d like to set xteve to start up automatically when Windows 10 reboots.
3. How do I get xteve and HDHomerun to work together?
