install docker-for-windows then setup xTeve on docker.
After taking a look at the XML file created by XTeVe, it seems as though this is a plex issue as XteVe is assigning a separate png file to each instance of the show in the guide. Plex for some reason, is caching the image for the show the first time it sees it and won’t pay attention to the different address for the poster the next time it sees it in the file. This happens with and without the setting for Xteve to cache images enabled.
I haven’t found a reliable provider yet.
have you been able to setup your jail with xTeVe? Would be interested in a how-to please.
You have to set this up just like any other FreeBSD service. It doesn’t matter whether xTeVe runs in the jail or on the host.
@marmei I’m not sure if this has been answered (probably) but I searched and tried to skim through the thread here. Is there a method of moving one channel to a different number and having the channel be placed in that number and the channel it would replace moved up one number and all others moved up one number?
Example I want to move channel 100 to channel 40 and have the existing channel 40 moved to 41 and the other channels moved up by one IE 41 then becomes 42 and so on.
I had wrote a script to do this in the json file containing the mappings but it didn’t work correctly. Usually don’t have to mess with the mapping once it’s setup but sometimes we might want to add another channel and group it with similar channels (kids, movie channels etc.) and this functionality would make it so much quicker and easier.
Love the program and it really does work great! Thanks for creating it.
How can I use all four tuners of the AVM FritzBox 6590 Cable with xteve? I configure 4 Tuners but only one Tuner is used. The first recording stops when a second starts, the Tuner change the channel to the second and the first record ends Thanks
This helped thank you.
Do you have a setup process on how xteve wants the epg / playlist data after getting it to run correctly? I moved the executable using ssh since my wget isn’t working in freenas (missing data or something). I was able to get the web portal working correctly, just need to understand what XTeVe is looking for as far as formatting data…
The FritzBox only allows one connection from the same IP
Take a look at the documentation, the most important things are described there. There are now a few tutorials on YouTube.
Not more…Plex DVR with the same IP can Records 4 Streams but ist not official supportetd and 1 of 5 records stops with transconder error…since 2019 you can use all 4 Tuners
xteve runs perfect…but only with one tuner…
If you have activated the xTeVe buffer, you also have to set the number of tuners in the M3U settings.
I was able to figure it out using this video if it helps anyone. It works flawlessly. Make sure to follow the steps to the T. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0qPOBzmZJA
Yes i have tested everything. 4 Tuners in m3u 1 in the Settings, 4 Tuner in m3u 4 tuner in settings and 1 tuner in m3u 4 in settings. The Buffer is on and one stream records perfectly…so its okay.
But when a second records start, the used tuner in the fritzbox change the channel and the first record stops after a while … …
Sorry if this has already been answered but this is a long thread…
My IPTV provider only supports a single stream - If I want additional streams, I can purchase them but it would be different logins. Can xTeVe or Plex help navigate this issue? Would like to have channels only appear once and then have xTeVe or Plex figure out which “line” to use
Thank you for the effort, really cool tool!
Hi, new user of Xteve here. I’m using it with ffmpeg. Actually, when I watch a channel, subtitle are enable by default. Is there a way to disable them by default?
@ marmei
Can y fix the Problem?
Same issus with Ubuntu…only one tuner are used
With VLC oder Plex or other Programs, i can use all 4 Tuners.
Thanks very much
I can’t do anything about that. FFmpeg or VLC as a buffer connects to the FritzBox, xTeVe receives the data from FFmpeg / VLC and sends it to Plex.
Each stream is a single FFmpeg / VLC process. 4 streams = 4 FFmpeg processes that connect to the FritzBox.
Mhh okay…
The settings in VLC are okay…i can start 4 streams together with vlc without xteve and use 4 tuner. I think xteve makes a short break when a 2. stream starts…so only one tuner with ne new channel is used.
