In the settings you enter the sum of all tuners per playlist.
Example:
Playlist 1 = 2 tuners
Playlist 2 = 4 tuners
xTeVe Tuner Settings = 6
When a playlist reaches this limit, an error message is sent to Plex as a video stream.

Does any of you have the problem that when you turn on the TV, then after turning off the Plex channel, it goes into an intermediate state, instead of a direct one?
After rebooting, Plex is fine until I turn on the TV again.

I have analyzed the matter. It turned out that in the new place everything started working after turning on uPnP.
I have comstar iptv and since they only allow 1 stream to each active account, they sold me a second account with a new m3u and xmltv URL. It has a new username/password for this new account. I’m running into an issue where if I add the new account m3u to the m3u page, I get more than the 480 limit and the mappings are all pointing to the original stream. Is there a way for a channel to be mapped to 2 channels? If this isn’t possible, can I install a second docker with a different IP so I can have it show up as a second tuner for Plex? Thanks in advance.
Hi, I am trying to combine the Octopus-Net with xTeVe and Plex. In former time I used Mosaic TV to connect to the octopus net, than xTeVe used Mosaic TV as source and finally I confugured the xTeVe Tuner in plex. This combination worked.
However, TV Mosaic is no longer continued and I switched my NAS from QNAP to FreeNAS. Therefore I have the following combination now: xTeVe (installed as jail with a separate IP-address) uses the m3u file from Octopus net and in Plex (also installed as jail with an own IP-address) I configured the xTeVe Tuner.
Now if I try to watch live tv, I get the message in plex I should check the antenna, and the following error logs are displayed:

Having an issue with Xteve and Plex, with Plex saying “could not tune channel. Please check tuner or antenna.”
The issue is not with Xteve or the m3u playlist as the xteve m3u streams perfectly fine in VLC.
The m3u has no limits on streams either.
PMS v 1.20.5.3600 running on Windows 10, Xteve running through Docker. Very frustrating that there seems to be no fix for this.

The stream is m3u8 streams of my local enigma2 Linux cable box.
If I start a stream in Plex, live Tv always occupies all 4 tuner which I allow for xteve. If a recording is running, a fifth Stream is opened. Why the heck is Plex grabbing the same stream from 4 different tuners?

Ditto, same problem, works fine in emby the streams work fine but plex instantly reports the error you described
I too am experiencing the looping issue with the current release of xteve and Plex.
I’ve seen a bunch of posts from others that seem to be experiencing the same thing, but can’t find any post that document the root cause or any resolutions or work arounds.
Is there any resolution to the looping issue?

The looping issue can be replicated via a TV tuner, xTeVe and dizqueTV. There is something going on with how PLEX is managing this type of content.
It would be great to have a m3u tunner native to PLEXl to separate out the EPG dependency. Worse case, I’ve been using VLC to watch the streams, but would love to have access to this content within PLEX and available outside my network.

I have an issue with xTeve replacing the show icons with wrong icons which are actually channel logos for a channel (the same channel the show is on i.e ABC or a different channel like CityTV in the example below)

This does not happen for all channels, some channels do have the correct show logos.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Using the “Download Enhanced Guide Data” in Plex solved this for me, Plex just downloaded the correct poster images
Has anyone used M3U4U with Plex having multiple tuners? My provider gives me access to one M3U/(EPG)XTML link that allows 5 connections. however because their images are all broken if I setup M3U4U I am only able to stream 1 connection at a time from their site. 
So I am not sure what the best plan is. Do I have to add the M3U/(EPG)XTML link 4 more times to M3U4U and (sigh) updates all the images for each then setup the tuners on each link to 1 on XTEVE?
Custom IPTV seems to be a very popular topic, so much that 3rd party apps are being developed to get around the Plex limitation.
Has Plex officially responded on adding this feature because from their end it would be as simple as their existing Live TV on Plex feature + add m3u list menu on the Plex server end - not difficult so I’m starting to think there is another reason this hasn’t happened 
I just deleted my existing xteve tuner from Plex because I received an email from Plex to delete my existing tuner and re-add it again for an upcoming EPG provider change on Jan 15th.
Well… I just deleted my xteve tuner… but, can’t add it back. Plex detects it as a valid HDHR tuner… however, when I try to add it, I immediately see the the screen below. How do I fix this issue?
looking for some ideas. perhaps someone else has tried using Pluto for Channels DVR ( Pluto for Channels - Custom Channels - Channels Community ) which builds a playlist and EPG on a service for Pluto TV.
I’ve added both the playlist and epg to xTeVe as I would for any IPTV provider. All seems fine except none of the channels map to theXMLTV file or XMLTV ID. When I use the Mapping utility (Bulk) and point to the correct EPG the XMLTV ID is still blank. I can manually adjust them one by one.
looking at the logs it appears to try and map them but no joy.

BTW, I did point Channels DVR at xTeVe and it works. While Channels DVR has some very interesting features it has a lot of issues with correctly identifying content. The main item of interest is the shear number of sources that can be mapped including Cable streaming services.

Pluto will not work since ffmpeg does not support EXT-X-DISCONTINUITY. You will get freezing or loops when a commercial starts or ends. Stirr works but has older stuff.

As a noob I don’t quite understand since it works fine including recording in Channels DVR. I like what they’ve done with the app but it is just sloppy where identifying content goes so a lot of maintenance is required.
Is this a CODEC limitation of Plex?
Not sure what you are referring to as limitation. The issue is that Pluto stops and starts the main video timestamps so it is not continues which causes everything to go out of sync. The transcoders need to be able to handle this which Plex, FFMpge and VLC does not. They need to be able EXT-X-DISCONTINUITY flag. Supposedly you can enabled this in FFMpeg but needs to be complied that way but I have not gone down that route to see if that would work.
You may have to delete it from the DB.
Hi, newbie here. Just followed the installation, applied filter to have less channels in the list. But, what should I do next? I can see the web adress in the browser, some infos about the streams, on the left, I have playlist, filter, XMLTV, Mapping, Settings, Log. I guess I’m missing something here. Can someone supply more infos about what to do when configuration is done. How do I access that in Plex? Setting up DVR cause I need to record some channels?
