I give up, I’ve been trying for over a week to get this to work correctly and it just keeps failing.
I setup 10 videos to optimize, it did one and then stopped with
There was a problem converting 1 item. Check the status in __
Okay, so I click that and I see the last one failed (no idea why). I click on the Delete next to that one movie and go back to check if the other 8 conversations started back up. Nope, they’ve all been removed.
This has happened twice now, so I guess this feature is still in development? Should we not be using it?
Also, why would it optimize the same movie again if it already had the optimized version? I manually optimized a movie for mobile and then later decided to do the most recent (which that movie was included) so I setup a library optimize for the top 10 and the first one was the movie I already ran through but it started and ran it all over agin.

Logs? Are you sure your hard-drive (storage or transcoding folder) didn’t run out of space?
The logs have already rotated, so much stuff gets put in there it’s near impossible to find out what’s going on unless I remember to do it immediately.
I have 1.2TB free.
Now that I’m thinking about it, it failed converted a movie it shouldn’t be converting. I said to do the 10 most recent and the one it was converting wasn’t even in the top 50. Another issue.
Wow! You have mad skills to break the system hahaha. Terrible.
My guess is by deleting a conversion job in a batch job (“convert 10 last added movies” then delete one of those 10 movies) Plex decided the whole job was cancelled… though it probably shouldn’t… but what’s the logic it should follow then? It’s asked to sync the 10 last movies and then you remove one of those… should it sync the 11th? Only 9?

The free space needs to be where the local plex app data is stored, not where your media is.

So, kind of true. It’s not where the app data is stored but where the transcoding takes place. Thanks ,that explains some of the issues.
