All of the naming is correct (Artist/Album/Song)…all of the attributes are set to read/write for everyone…when I add new music to my library the proper album is scraped but the name is not added for album and album sort - it just shows up as “Unknown Album]”
Not sure what to do to fix - I have ripped all of my CD’s and have added over the years and until recently have not had any issues - not sure what has changed. Any help would be appreciated

Please type in a code box the folder and file structure you use. Let’s hope you follow the Plex naming conventions and that you Plex Dance the album if you make changes.
It’s hard to say at this point why your rip and tag system used to work. Changes do get made to Plex software, and you would not be the first to have issues starting this year.
Two apps I find useful on a Mac, installed the software manager Homebrew are:
I have scanner/agent set to Plex Music but did have Prefer Local Metadata checked so I unchecked and tested - that did not make a difference.
My tracks are all mp3’s and I am bringing them over from my local library to Plex from iTunes. I use iTunes to fix any issues with the naming etc. Any song not associated with a full album do not have the album tagged and I do not use album artist at all. It has worked just fine until recently - I have over 30K tracks. I do follow the naming convention - but the tracks that are not part of a full album are kept in the root of the artist folder.
Lastly I manage everything on Windows 11 then move to the MacMini that I use for my Plex server so any software can be Windows based. I have noticed that any albums that are uploaded and scraped seem to be fine.
Are you recommending that all tracks be completely tagged prior to adding them to Plex? If so this is a much larger project than I planned LOL

@jeff.garner When you have a library set to Prefer Local Metadata, tags and file structure are critical. When that preference is unset, the Plex Music scanner will take hints from tags and file structure but prefer online databases like Musicbrainz to match everything and populate album names, track names, artists etc. I really like how good it is.
If you change that setting, you need to, at the library level, Refresh All Metadata. Because you have a massive library be prepared for that to take a long time. It will make a lot of changes to naming and artwork I figure. It could make some mistakes.
You may want to make a test library instead of doing that, and experiment on a few albums that work and a few that come back as Unknown Album.
