I convert mkv to mp4 for iTunes support and no transcode on Plex on apple TV 4.
I must add a line ([FRENCH]) in the last second of movie, but it’s too long to do to each movie.
Can you help me ?

I open set file with SubTools or Jubler and the result is :

Is playback direct or transcoded?
It’s embedded .srt called mov_text in plex.

mov_text is not srt. If you have muxed a srt file into an mp4 video, it has been converted to mov_text automatically.

No. You can tell Plex Web to render text-based subtitles independently. This helps avoiding transcoding.
Settings - Web - Player - ‘Burn Subtitles’ = Automatic
Try the behaviour with both ‘Automatic’ and ‘Always’
I’d be interested whether there is a difference or not.
If you still have the separate SRT file, conduct the test with this as well, please.

Subs in an MP4 are problematic at best. At least in my experience.
When using embedded subs I use an MKV file and it’s all flowers and kittens. For MP4 files I always use an external sub file. I never burn subs - 'cause I want my subs to Direct Play and a ‘Burn’ means a ‘transcode’.
Some of my devices are Rokus and apparently Rokus don’t play nice with embedded subs in an MP4. Other users on other devices may have different mileage results, but for me and all the devices in my signature embedded subs in an MKV file Direct Play. All my MP4s requiring subs use externals.
If I’m encoding something anyway and happen to have a forced PGS or other image based sub that needs to display during non-english bits I’ll just go ahead and burn those forced subs right into the video while I’ve got it in Handbrake. The chances of me learning another language any time soon are pretty slim (zero to be more precise) so if some foreigner is speaking I’m gonna want to know what they’re saying now or in the foreseeable future. That way I won’t need any subs at all. They’re already pre-burned right on the video and I can use my preferred MP4 container.

Try the external SRT file with ‘Automatic’
The subtitles should have sharper edges and cpu load on the server should be lower.
Does the issue with the last line missing appear in this constellation as well?

I use “always”.
With external srt, subtitles are fine.
When I use Plex Sync, or Plex Cloud with embedded Mov_Text, the last text station screen to end movie.

This should not happen with external SRTs.
Except, when your SRT is somehow ‘invalid’
(overlapping lines or the wrong text encoding [should always be ‘UTF-8’])
Or maybe you are blocking some javascripts in your web browser?

On my iPhone, with “automatic”, the subtitles appears but the last text stays on screen.

I only watched the sample in Plex Web, which doesn’t exhibit the problem.
(But in Plex Web the first line at 00:14:39,601 doesn’t show up.) ¯_(ツ)_/¯
