I’m using MacOS’s safari with the app.plex.tv website to watch a movie.
The issue as follows:
When playing a movie, subtitles both embedded(srt&ass) and external(srt&ass) are having a great chance to disappear(doesn’t appear when playing, and could disappear during a playing),
The only solution for now is turn on “Player-Audio&Subtitles-Burn Subtitles” to “always”, which lags my plex server and experience.
I hope you could solve it ASAP
Both macOS and Safari are the latest version
Subtitles is broken on public channel for months and still they refused to release the fix even though they have it. It is clear that they do not regard this as a major problem, which is a shame. Was even considering getting lifetime subscription until their recent focus on things that don’t matter at all.
I finally tried Emby after loving Plex for years, and honestly Emby server is on par with Plex server, but their subtitle support is far superior and not an after thoughts. The bad thing though is their Android client sucks with tons of bugs that I can easily reproduce.
But for now I will stick with Emby until Plex gets their act together.

Would like to have a sample set of media files to get the problem reproduced with
Does the issue arise with other browsers as well ? eg Chrome?
Does it arise with normal playback from the beginning or only after seek forward/backward and resuming?
Does it arise on playback on local network and on server machine itself ?
What setting do you have for Plex Web in Quality for automatic quality adjustment
Could you look into reproducing the problem with, say a 20-minute file and provide the logs for the playback that drops the subtitles and the media and srt / ass file.
PS: your Plex Pass badge is not showing on your forum posts. Could you go through this to sync your forum account

1.Does the issue arise with other browsers as well ? eg Chrome? Yes, it also arises on chrome
2.Does it arise with normal playback from the beginning or only after seek forward/backward and resuming?
It arises with normal playback and all the other time.
3.Does it arise on playback on local network and on server machine itself ? I’m using Synology and it arises on both local network and remote watching
4.What setting do you have for Plex Web in Quality for automatic quality adjustment.
I set the Plex web quantity to Orignal when and never tick the “automatic quantity adjustment”
5.Could you look into reproducing the problem with, say a 20-minute file and provide the logs for the playback that drops the subtitles and the media and srt / ass file.
This happens for all the media and ass/art files.
and here’s my log for all those kinds of files

I am sorry but it does not happen with all srt files. It may be happening with all your srt files.
I just need a sample set to pass on to the development team. A set that is covered in the logs provided
Would also need the time the subs drop out

Subs not working either at the beginning or in the middle way.
Thanks you
Just started testing with chrome and subs are there.
Will look at your logs.
For the logs provided - were subs missing from the beginning ? Were the subs selected in the player ?

I suggest for testing we concentrate on using local network connections
